After the highs of Le Mans, the endurance stage moves east! What I love about this race is that it really is a whos who of the professional driver world, with names like Stippler, Bleekemolen, Fassler, Basseng, Rast, Winkelhock, Turner, Lamy, Westbrook, Ortelli, Muller, Luhr... I could go on and on and on...

Where can we watch this? I'm going to be listening in on RLM but was hoping there is a stream for it.

Not entirely sure, but hopefully I'll find something for the start. I really don't mind listening on radio though during the rest of the race.

The 22 and 23 cars could use a lot of luck since it is the same two drivers in both of those cars.

Slightly OT, but it seems the WTCC may use the Nordschleife next year as a support for the N24.

Hugely chaotic in the first few hours with quite a few accidents.

I still don't know what the #31 was doing at the chicane. That was nothing short of a suicide run!

There was oil on track just before this chicane. This also caused a Z4 to spin there.

Not sure what everyone's opinion is on this years race but thought it was alright. A bit chaotic in the first few hours with all the various crashes but it settled down and turned into a good one. I think the highlight no doubt has to be the battle in the last hour for fifth position between the #007 Aston with Pedro Lamy and the #20 BMW. It was proper immense and the BMW was almost taken out by a slow Renault Clio on the last lap.

And on a celebratory note, this is my 4,000th post! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! I've been with TORA for nearly 6 years and it's taken me nearly 3 times as long to get to this feet! #lol   

I agree, the race was ok. The battle between Audi and Merc in the middle of the race was as good as the fight for 5th position at the end. I would also count the top 30 qualifying to the highlights, the pole lap by McLaren was awesome.

On the downside, the aggressive driving in the first two hours was too much. There are too many works-supported teams fighting for the win, so the pressure on teams and drivers is immense. This widens the gap between the driving level in the pro teams and the amateur teams in lower classes, resulting in more situations that are risky or end in a crash eventually (already seen in VLN this year). That's not good for either side. Also AFAIK at least one of the volunteer marshalls was injured in one of the crashs. This must not happen!

Let's hope, it will be a bit more relaxed next year (with proper threats of punishment). Next year there will be also WTCC on the Nordschleife. I like to see these cars running there, though it may result in some more wreckage.
