We can ultimately never stop someone from coming to the forum and re registering under a new alias , there are even apps you can use to hide or alter your IP address and the only way we will ever know is if he should make it known to us.

The issue has been sorted, how staff thought correct, as ckBrenneke said.

Let's all learn from it, make the most of the situation and carry on with what TORA does best; close, competitive racing.

Speaking of which, GET EXCITED! 4 days till Le Mans!

I didn't want to say much on the issue, as I think if I did, it may not sit well for either party... But, that's all I have to say,
Bring on Le Mans

Like I said, I don't have enough information on what Warspite did or didn't do (although I find it hard to see how the limited info provided to TORA can be that damaging, I do accept it can be misused). I don't think I've even ever spoken to the guy. What I am saying is sometimes it is necessary to keep tabs on what others are doing to discredit you, particularly in this environment. I suppose the difference is I was monitoring groups who were actively trying to discredit TORA, rather than our own members.

F4H Rosso wrote:Just a question. What measures have been put into place to ensure Warspite does not return in a different guise? It's something he's apparently quite good at! Has his IP been banned? Do we know of other alias' he goes by? The statement sent out kinda means nothing if it can't be enforced.

The ban system is an IP ban. The system records all personal IPs that user has previously logged in using and bans them. But there's always a way round these things.

Time to move on now. The facts have been well documented in the OP and the TORA staff are now busy working on exciting new series and events for the rest of the season and beyond.

Let's get back to the racing.

Thanks
Matt

Chucky I will if I can locate an open thread and form to do so, that said... was there a hint?  Very Happy  I hate filling out forms mate, usually involves paying taxes or rejection for something Smile

On the matter of the suggested IP ban, phpBB does have options built into the admin side / Control Panel but to be quite honest it's not at all hard to get around. There are also additional add-on tweaks that can be installed into the board but again if someone is hell bent into getting into the forum then they will, that said folks does it really matter anyhow, I mean we're pretty open at TORA and guests can view our board and threads anyway so you might all want to say "hi" right now as I would put money on the chances that a certain someone will be reading all of our posts on this very thread right about now anyway. Personally I like how TORA is visible to all as it allows potential new members to see what's what before signing up although we all got to remember this when openly debating such antics that have recently been revealed.

Lets forget about it now. I am off to create a tune for USGT round 4. Agreed... lock the thread.  Cheers
