Consistency?
Unless people start a GIF fight or hitting each other I really don´t see why threats like these should be posted here. Nobody is criticizing FM5 because they can´t own it. That is ridiculous. The members want events on both FM4 and FM5. What is the problem? This website is called the TheOnlineRacingAssociation... not TheForzaMotorsport5RacingAssociation.
Don´t have enough staff? Hire more. Give the community an incentive to build their own cups. Grown TORA. More games = More Members = More Racing = More Fun
Forcing people to use a certain platform will lead to limitations and problems.. just like they happened.
Threatening your community because they are having a civil discussion is just a very bad ideia. I didn´t like it.... honestly.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
I find it a bit odd that people are saying there aren't enough Forza 5 events on TORA, but when you look at the 3 current Forza 5 events currently running on TORA they haven't been able to attract enough people to have more than one race lobby.

TORA GP - Car is good fun, and I like the set up of it. But anyone who has driven these cars will know that the downforce is so immense, it makes it a struggle to 'race hard' against other people. You have to be 100% sure you can get past because the cars are very unpredictable. I don't think I'd do another season, I'm just seeing this one out because I think I might be able to do quite well in it.
Mazda MX-5 - It's a fun little car, but it aint half slow. Enjoyable series, certainly in the only race I've done, but I can see why people would be put off, this is more personal preference.
Touring Car Legends - This may be a really good series, I don't know, I can't make Wednesdays.
From what I've seen, just using my eyes and ears in lobbies and on the forum, is people want Indy Lights, USF2000, Formula Ford etc. I know VM comfortably filled 2 lobbies during the V8SC & Indycar championship over there, because they are a requested series by the community. Maybe I'm off the mark with this, but I get a lingering sense of 'we don't really know what to do' regarding FM5 events at the moment. I'll just add, for the record before the Forza Fanclub jump down my throat, that FM5 is a cracking game, and I've been quite impressed with the DLC too, particularly the free tracks. We're definitely getting closer, just slightly off at the present time, but we'll get there.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Despite what some may think or say about us publically without consultation with Staff, we do support BOTH Forza games as well as Grid Autosport and we will most likely have support for CARS.
TORA is a community that has grown up with Forza and certainly it will continue to be the basis for all our major series BUT I, personally have always said that we would support whatever the community was using. In the current climate, with a new console barely 6 months old, the Forza 5 users ON TORA are still in the minority. As such, we will continue to support FM4, as is visible with our Touring Cras coming up, spec series and the TEC events as well as the Silverstone Classic which will be using both games.
There is also TCC for FM5, Formula Ford and other bits and bobs in the pipeline. Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it isn't happening. There's a lot going on behind the scenes. I'd suggest you all tune into the TORA Radio shows every month for more info and perhaps some of the comments above could be avoided
This thread is for discussion of FM5 and its features it is not a thread for slating groups who want FM4 series still or boasting about how much money people have spent and lording it over those who can't afford the switch.
Fact is there are people of all income levels racing here. All are welcome and I'd expect that sentiment to be shared by all at TORA. There is no room for show offs here

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
Had a short go of Forza 5 today in Game. I only played it for about 5 minutes but it was certainly different. If I'd had the time to play longer I would've probably still been there a couple of hours later. The triggers are extremely...well interesting. Something that I'd have to get used to. Seems very promising from what I was able to play. I'll be honest and say if I had the money I would've bought the console right there and then. The console and controller felt really nice. The whole home screen/interface is quite different but it's nice. I suppose I shouldn't judge a book by its cover

You soon get used to the rumble triggers, I hardly notice it now and I can't remember my hands ever cramping while holding this controller.
Never a good idea to judge a book by it's cover or go off of someone else's opinion. It's always best to make your own mind up.

The controller does feel much different, but personally I love it! The feedback from it gives me more info about what the car is doing, and makes my decisions on corrections more informed. The triggers have a bit of a dead space in them, but you can change it in the settings.

I never thought the game was bad but I think because of the way other people were saying it was it almost felt like it was just a next gen version of Forza. Some different tracks and cars.

Have to really agree with this. It's not as hard to setup a series as people make it sound. I mean, you come up with a calender, you've got the cars already balanced, and there you have it. It doesn't really involve negotiating with the FIA or MSA about can we run this. There's 5 vacant nights a week on FM5 and they should be filled up. Plus, (and I know I may get slated for this) but I don't think that TORA should have to worry whether FM5 series conflict with FM4. People can't race everywhere and in real life, racers usually race just one series for a whole year so.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
As Matt stated, there are more races and series in the works that are just awaiting formal announcements. Some really cool stuff at that. As the summer steams along, things will be announced, and raced, and most of this "why isn't there more FM5 series" chatter will fade away.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 2
i do get to have go playing this game and i thought the cars i tried had a lot of under steer when you braked into a corner and the brakes were too sensitive and you could get the back end out if you put too much power down other than that it looks like a good game.

See my previuos comments. Also remember that while there is 5 potential days left to fill up, all staff are volunteers and have families etc and I doubt there'd be many happy to run events effectively 7 days a week for free potentially at the detrement of their valuable free time. We went doen that route once before in 2009 and it nearly killed us. Never again
Lots coming up, listen to the podcast for more...

Wow!!!
Rolls Royce in their first game, and what a car to do it with!
New Mustang is always good, and Formula E is a pretty cool addition
