Nicky I totally disagree with you about Ricky B.
He admitted on live tv he was and I quote; "a lucky son who was born of parents who were not married at the time of conception.

He is, but I didn't appreciate the fact that the BBC cut off the Press Conf just for him though...
Also, the best thing about F1...Pit Babes!

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
Truly awesome race.
Kubica was awesome over the last few laps the way he was closing in. What the hell happened there with him and Vettel?
So avoidable...

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
Vettel was struggling with the softs and braked early, so Kubica went for it. Vettel understeered into the side of him and Kubica probably couldnt see him, was nobody's fault imo, an unavoidable accident that has been seen so many times, and ive been involved in them on forza so many times.

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
just incase you havtn registered, i copy and paste it
Please note: there is some auto sensoring in this
Jenson button breaks virgin-train-ity! AGAIN WITHOUT THE cardiff dock COMMETATING!
Well, a fairytale happening today at the Albert Park in Melbourne, situated in the Victoria region of Australia. This was the first time we got to see the new 2009 spec cars in action, it was time for the theory to be put into reality, and boy did it transfer nicely
The Brawn Mercedes team locked out the front row for the race, Button on pole with Barrichello second, Vettel in the Red Bull was third. Lewis Hamilton started 18th which many people thought was significant for some reason...
Anyway, the lights went out, Jonathan Legard only managed to notice the second light before shouting go. Barrichello got an awful start, as the KERS equipped cars shot off the line. Barrichello then showed the Japanese herritage of the Brawn and Sato'd Mark Webber, to which many Australian fans started crying. Kovelainen retired.
Button got away very well from the start, as did the Ferrari's, who were on Soft tyres and using KERS to their advantage. Meanwhile Hamilton was showing off his KERS and overtaking one car after the other. Barrichelo went into the back of one of the Ferraris (cant remember which one) damaging his car only slightly..
Nakajima bins his WIlliams Toyota into the wall close to halfway, bringing out the first of two Safety Cars, he Lost it going out of the car park, bouncing off the tyres and spinning along the side of the track.
Button pulled away from Vettel on the restart taking a lead of around 5 seconds. Kubica put soft tyres on in his first stop while the rest went for some more mediums, this would prove a long term gain (or so he thought..). Raikonen spins and hits the wall, while Massa retires.
Fast foward now to 3 laps to go, turn 1, Kubica is catching Vettel, who are both catching Button. Vettel makes a mistake and Kubica gets a run into turn three, Vettel brakes early, Kubica goes round the outside, Vettel runs wide and the get tangled up in each other. They both coninue and both understeer into the tyres, Vettel coninues on three wheels as Kubica makes massive conatct with the tyres, ripping the left side wheels off of their tethers. The Saftey car comes out, Vettel tries to stay on the lead lap with three wheels and eventually gives up.
Button takes his second career win in a lights to flag finnish!
tata, next week, i report from that island with that sho! track!

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
Best Race Ever!
Until I heard about this bunch of penaltys, they have just ruined it again by displacing Trulli who had an outstanding race to come from 19th to 3rd.
I loved the fact that Kubica and Vettel crashed into each other. Not for the fact that they took each other out, but it showed that those two guys won't hold back at all and they had some proper good racing. Then they crashed into each other
I was loving Vettel being cheeky and trying to keep going

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
Why has Vettel got a penalty for?? It was Kubica's fault just as much as it was Vettel, cos he no room for him to move into. He knew was on his inside and yet and he still tried to take his normal line. Again the stewards taking the piss with the race

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
I agree with Nick Kubica gave Vettel no room and his tyres were off so he was running wide but Vettel shouldnt have carried on.

Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
Yeah I think it was more Kubicas fault rather than Vettels but they both could have easily avoided it. Kubica should have given him more room rather than shutting the door when he knew his car was there. Vettel could have just backed off and let him pass but he was a bit out of control so I dunno how much more he could have done tbh. In my mind it was just a racing incident and I loved it!
Re: 2009 ING Australian Grand Prix
The penalty wasn't for the crash, but for the fact he carried on the track with 3 wheels. The rules state that he must pull off the track with that level of damage.
