Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Anyone here who races in RMC will know that it is also a multiclass event.
Both classes race in the same lobbies (otherwise it's not a multiclass race) but are racing for their own championship.
If you don't make it into A lobby due to a bad qualifying, that's bad luck and that's racing I'm afraid. Make up for it at the next race.
You can't go picking on all the things that can adversely effect a sim racing simply because a prize is at stake.
Please cast your vote and leave it at that. I'm still astonished at the attitude towards what is an extremely generous prize from our friends at the VAG Trophy. The only 'shambles' here is the reaction this prize has received.
The staff have attempted to react to the concerns of a few members to make it more accessible by trying to source even more prizes for those ineligible or unhappy with the main prize.

i know my attitude may of come across as pritty bad, but i was only fighting for myself and other Non UK Licensed people to be able paritcipate even if it is not for the actual Big Prize i just wanna race may it be A Class or B Class i dont mind either way. but it seems like others didnt want us in the Series, but thanks to yourself and Stan and other Staff Members it has allowed others to be able jump in to do B Class most likely and i thank you for that

CQR CHRiS wrote:I get Stan's point but putting two classes in the same lobby can in term have an affect on the prize. Let me put it differently if you enter the British GT you race for a prize but someone decides im gonna run a mini I wont be on the pace so I'm not affecting the championship, they in turn wipe out the GT leader which loses him the title, thats were it becomes a clash and a issue where prizes are involved in the outcome.
Multiclass racing with prizes varying in value? Slower cars on the track at the same time as the elite? Worse yet, two classes of the same or similar cars? No series would ever due that in the real world.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
I concur jonno. Rules were set out and should have been adhered to. I want to race for real but need a licence. If tors wants to be as real as it gets and there are terms to enter championships, people can't moan about it and should respect the rules #screwthevote

Let's just get some racing done lads. If anyone tries to be clever, manipulative or just an Arsenal, TORA can use appropriate discretion.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Okay, quick question in regards to Class A Prizes, and Option A.
With the Drivers License where it says UK or not...does that mean Americans like myself who have a US Drivers License can race in A Class...And does that also go for those in other Nations as well?
Its confusing because I was initially told that it was for UK Residents with Licenses only.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Yes it was tweaked a little.
Anyone with a Driving License from your country of residence can enter. But if you win the prize, you have to be able to get to the UK to claim it.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
okay...thanks stan...The fact that it initially was UK residents only really pissed me off when it was announced.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Iv decided I'm retracting my vote and wont take part as its ridiculous...out off that enter lets say five are eligible for the grand prize what if CUs of all the non eligible drivers bump 4 of the drivers that can win down to lower lobby but one eligible driver gets A lobby most of the time they will win I hands down so there's no point competing...so as I said I'm retracting my vote...penny's in....END OF....

Rewarding the speed and consistency of the person who made it into A Lobby all the way through?jonnotheone wrote:Iv decided I'm retracting my vote and wont take part as its ridiculous...out off that enter lets say five are eligible for the grand prize what if CUs of all the non eligible drivers bump 4 of the drivers that can win down to lower lobby but one eligible driver gets A lobby most of the time they will win I hands down so there's no point competing...so as I said I'm retracting my vote...penny's in....END OF....
Besides, there are options to vote for where that can't happen. If you don't vote for those options then it can happen.
Vote now; if you're not happy with the outcome then you can choose not to enter but if you don't vote, you can't complain about the result.
The only thing that would annoy me is if someone bought a load of ringers in for the last round to try and bump people who are in the hunt for the prize down a lobby and out of contention but there are ways to legislate that out.

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
No mate your missing my point really like I said those who are not eligible to win are impeding those who can if it was only eligible people then it would be fair as we all would be with in a shot even if you were racing against plow or Hayden and other fast guys..but as I said end of I'm not voting or taking part so thats my parting comment...

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
i was going to participate in this but with all the arguments that have taken place i feel i dont want to race in this.but i do understand that all tracks around the uk have strict rules on being that you have to have a full licence to do either a track day or even do a club race.lets say you have racing licence to race club level does that mean you cannot race as you dont have a drivers licence?

Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Just clear this up, alls i was fighting for within the Vote and General Discussion was to allow Non UK Driver Licensed people to race in the B Class as that would of been not used at all considering the big prize is in A Class, and now everyone is gonna say "But we mite of jumped in that class" but come on, this is on Motors TV if the sponsors allow Non Eligible in B Class isnt that fair on everyone? or does everyone want to kick out the Non Eligible people so "YOU" have a better chance of a prize and more viewing time via Motors TV, thats what all this seems to me, yeah rules were put there BUT B class did not even have a chance of getting the test day prize, so wheres the Logic? surely just Tweaking the rules a tiny bit makes it fairer on the Whole TORA Community.
i voted for B, A Class Eligible/ B Class Non Eligible makes it fair. if people be stupid and take out the Eligible people Myself and Other Stewards are here to clamp down on it.

Same, was quite interested in entering this with the rules orignally posted but wont be now. So I'll remove my vote as it wouldn't be fair to vote on something i won't be entering!
Re: VAG Trophy Vote
Just a thought, but if a non licence driver won the competition, would it not be possible for that winner to still have the same top prize, but instead have a pro race driver drive the car around the track instead?
Also, I voted for option E as I like the idea of opening it up to all cars and I want to race my R-34 lol

Wait, this does make me intrigued then...
So an amendment's made, a compromise, that attempts to benefit the community as a whole and get more racing in the series. Now you're not going to race?
