TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: General Discussion

This isn't real life for one, and in F1 everyone is effectively in the same lobby anyway so please do try and think of a better analogy.

At every other site that I have had raced at over the years, it has been the case that if you have reached 75% of the full race distance, you are scored in the lobby. I'd never really noticed that that isn't the case at TORA and I'm not sure why it isn't.

Ok, first off bandicoot, this isn't F1. We are not in one lobby and this isn't real life. We also are not like every other site out there, making TORA unique with it's own unique set of rules moderated by staff who have been doing this for years. Unfortunately because of the amount of entries to the championship DNF's get no points; we're just that popular. This is the way it has been run for years and probably the same way it will be run in years to come. Nobody has "noticed" it before because the DNF's still got points. Long and the short of it is that them's the rules and they aren't going to change.

You can't even see the comment that I was replying to so you have no context for the statements I made.

bandicoot, I've spooled through the last 5 pages all in one go and your comment seemed to flow smoothly into the argument.

Jonno, I'm assuming that n7thGear is female because of the language used and the fact that typically "Brooke" is a female's name. Also not surprised that genders are kept low key because the amount of testosterone in the argument alone is high. Try letting 100+ guys know that one racer is female.

There is a lot more aggression in this series' discussion than usual. But in general, the racing here on TORA is first rate, and well worth the rare forum dust up.

yeh well worth starting a few arguments for the racing I'm not an A lobbyist nor a b one lol but unlike some iv got a life other than playing games all day an night...(ohh might start an argument with that comment lol...)

I work full time, I take night classes, and I work on music and electrical equipment in most of my free time. I have maybe 2 hours every other night to play this game, yet I qualified 3rd in A lobby for round 1. I don't see your point.

Some of the banter here is getting unacceptable and will stop now. This is a motorsport forum not a creche. Grow up!

Gregtwo I sympathize with your concerns but as rightly mentioned by Collin, in the years past even DNFs have received points simply because we have a points system with more allocation than members racing. Obviously that's not the case this season.
We will look to evaluate the points system in the future based on the unprecedented popularity of British GT but that will be at seasons end and will not affect the current championship.
Remember, you still get an attendance bonus at the end for making all the races even if you don't finish so that helps mitigate DNFs to a degree

Everyone needs to stick a tampon in (no offence to the female users) and chill out, we are just over a week away from the next round so surely we should be focused on that and not using the free time to nit pick at each other. Mats already said it needs to stop yet it carries on. A little self-restraint wouldn't hurt.

How come the track limits havn't been put up yet in the track inspection forum?

I would think its a case of as long as two of your wheels are on the grey of the track,,then its all good.....but i could be very wrong,,lol. I have been looking at real life cars racing round this track on Youtube and from what i have seen so far thats what the real chaps do.

Track inspections are released 7 days before the event, however I don't think this one will make for any real surprises.

When can we sign up for zolder qualify?

Just wondering if we would be able to attack the first chicane with some aggression. I've taken it a few times where the inside wheel hits the bulge at the apex and it jumps the car up a bit and then clip it in the next part of the chicane. Like this:
