Re: TORA US American Iron Media
Jack Rabbit Racing is proud to announce their partnership with K&N for the upcoming American Iron series. Piloting the K&N branded Mustang GT will be veteran EZT team driver MAKO 6669. " I'm excited to have K&N on board as our sponsor for this series," said Mako. "I love driving the team's Mustang, and having a major sponsor backing us will help us be more competitive with the big name teams racing in this series. I also want to thank teammate EZT COOT for another fantastic paint job. Our cars wouldn't look half as good as they do without him!"
Re: TORA US American Iron Media
Here is what happened to BigBen, Mako and myself on lap one. I was attempting to keep out of Mako and the other car hitting in front of me and this car came flipping in from the upper left, shot back and then appeared in front of me, which made me take Mako out. Then next thing I knew BigBen was on his roof on the other side of the track. Craziness, but look forward to next week.
Re: TORA US American Iron Media
That was very unavoidable on your end midnight. Nowhere for you 3 to go in a case like that. Hopefully that won't happen again next week.

Re: TORA US American Iron Media
I was wondering what had happened there. We were all pretty tight going in, but racing clean. I knew there was some sort of lag bomb, but didn't actually see it until after I got turned around and off track.

This is why I don't like to racing on a Comcast connection. My sister checked her email right at the start of the race and, apparently, that used up all of the bandwidth....Stupid Comcast. I'll post my perceptive later.

Re: TORA US American Iron Media
I blame Turn Ten and Microsoft, I play plenty of other online racing games that do not have lag issues like this.
No one racers fault at all here, just an incident, but I knew since we were at the back of the pack no one was sure what had happened. Just thought I would throw it out there so you all could see.
I am optimistic that next week will not have any lag issues for anyone.

Took some photos from the race and qualifying, including some solo shots of my livery. Might also upload some video now that my Hauppauge 2 is fixed-ish.

Re: TORA US American Iron Media
Since Mako and I, who are not on the same team, unknowingly showed up with the same paint scheme, I decided to change it up a little.
Also, here is my view of the lag at the beginning of last week's race.

Thought I might as well get around to sharing how my lag experience went that race.

Re: TORA US American Iron Media
And here is the entirety of yesterday's race.
That was mostly a mess. Had to turn unnaturally aggressive through turn 2 of the second active lap to avoid a rear ending collision from 100 feet back, I got jump started pretty much every time with no appropriate room to defend my line (check the end of the post to see why), I kept having to exceed 60 mph to stay in formation, I had a driver keep colliding against me in the null laps before a red flag was called, and I missed two apexes to poor effect (the second one even skimming the tire wall. Underestimated how much a Cadillac trunk can blind a smaller car). I did at least get into some battles, but they were soured by the starts.
As for the jump starts from my perspective, I looked at the start from Solar's stream and finally figured out what's happening. It's the awful Forza 4 netcode. From both of our perspectives, Solar reaches the line at about 2:00.317. From my replay, it shows Solar jumping the line by nearly 3 tenths while I'm launching right as he reaches the line. From his perspective, you can tell he's launching right as he reaches the line just from the audio alone. Even when I launch at 2:00.3 and he launches at 2:00.3, after the netcode jumbles it he still ends up accelerating a good three tenths before I do, making it impossible to catch his draft or stay within even a 100 feet of him by turn 1. It's irritating, but I don't really know what can be done about it outside of the 40 feet limit that was already added, or me trying to blindly jump start by exactly 3 tenths to match the launch from his perspective (not exactly great).

Re: TORA US American Iron Media
Here are a few photos from the final round of AI. Would have taken more but the lag was causing lots of smoke and other obstructions.
