Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
B lobby was for some reason rolling start, someone please clarify as to why? I wasn't even told, I messaged my host to say I couldn't hear anyone but I knew my starting position, got a reply but only to tell me the car infront of me on the grid. Nothing about a rolling start, all my other team mates had standing starts in their respective lobbies.
Race 1 I lagged out, [Censored] happens and I've had a lot of trouble with it lately so this not my next issue, the issue is that I sat waiting for race 2 to rejoin from the back. I got an invite from my host, so I accepted it straight away and by the time I got in the lobby, which took approximately 15 seconds, the rest of the lobby had already set off on the formation lap and left without me which in my opinion is appauling.
I enjoy racing on tora but [Censored] like this is turning me, and many others, away from this site and to alternative organisations and is beginning to tarnish the reputation of tora.
Hopefully if I decide to race next week this won't happen again

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
absolutely gutted as it could have been a great nights racing. Managed to get into 2nd in A lobby and was about to comfortably finish there but on the last corner of the last lap Forza decides to say no and disconnect me. It wasn't even my internet that was the issue If anyone wants to laugh at me go and watch the game clip of me getting DC'd on my activity feed. I really was fuming at this point as i was so close to finishing. Starting at the back for race 2 wasn't really ideal either. Not to mention the fact i couldn't hear anyone in the lobby. I was just so mad i was on a mission in race 2, overtaking cars left right and centre. Had a number of great battles whilst in race 2, My personal favourite was with Tubbi and a Mercedes. Couldn't believe it when i saw an opportunity of a podium. 18th to 3rd. Not bad. Hopefully Turn 10 will sort out these issues that made the evening quite stressy and we can get on with the series. Good racing Chaps.

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
Well that was my first TORA experience and I have to say it was very disappointing. I was knocked of track on at least three occasions in both races. I would wait to make clean passes on people only to be barrelled into at the next corner and basically shoved out of the way. I even had someone slam on the brakes right in front of me on the start/finish straight. I saw multiple incidents of contact on every lap of both races, it was crazy. I've just run a Ginetta G40 comp on PCars on PC with a bunch of really good racers and did not have even one incident of contact for the whole season.
I also had the situation of not being able to hear a single person in the lobby. Was happily chatting away in a party with a group of people before the race so know that my hardware was working. I'm not sure T10 are upto such large lobbies, they even suggest parties themselves in game. So I think the suggestion jontheone made for 12 car lobbies using party chat might be sensible. It really difficult to race with people when you can't communicate with them.

Remember you can (and should) submit a Stewards Inquiry to report any bad driving behaviour, there is a window to do so but it's not too late.PzR Slim wrote:Well that was my first TORA experience and I have to say it was very disappointing. With the nature of touring cars some contact is expected but obviously malicious contact needs to be reported. We have a few new drivers in this series and they may not necessarily be up to scratch with the driving standards here.

Stan i dont know if you have read the comments above and previous page but submiting an si is pointless for last nights race as no replay saved or it saved with a glitch with no cars moving..Standaman94 wrote:Remember you can (and should) submit a Stewards Inquiry to report any bad driving behaviour, there is a window to do so but it's not too late.PzR Slim wrote:Well that was my first TORA experience and I have to say it was very disappointing. Might be worth asking about if there are any replays from people in ur lobby so we can look at it

The source of this information? I think you are incorrect on this one.
Forza 4 was peer to peer in-race, hence the issues with more than 14 racers in a lobby when the number of concurrent connections increased massively. Forza 5 and 6 use dedicated servers on the Microsoft Cloud...

Both myself and Skyshadow have identical issues with our separately saved replays from that lobby. Sky's are on whatever the storefront thing is called now. IF you want me to do the same then all you have to do is ask...
I've put an SI in, will have to use "Xbox Record That" evidence as things are for the moment.

i only go off what i read bud...either way the servers atm are incapable of having a practicly full lobby there wasnt just issues in our lobby all the lobbys had issues...hence why i think all lobbys should have 12 atm untill the servers are capable of handling a full lobby with chat..least with 12 we can all communicate in a party..TFR Magic wrote:jonnotheone wrote:After doing some checking it turns out that the servers for fm6 are the same servers that was used for fm4 and fm5 we all know the troubble we had having full lobbys on them games...there is absalutly no info on servets being updated atm so as a i sugested 12 per lobby is the way to go i dont care if it means extra lobbys ill bloody host if i have to.

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
Lobby 4 had some good action in it. We were (my fault) really quick on the 'lights' which caught a couple of guys out but the right people were at the front. Driving was good and there was little to no major contact at all outside of people making the odd mistake due to racing new cars.
Good atmos in the lobby too. Always had someone to race. Great Neal/Plato side by side action with Jamie and also with mclarenfan and Ghost.
As regards delays etc, it's the first round of a new series. There's a lot of new names coming up which we needed to add to our friends list as we started lobbies. That automatically adds some time.
Added to that the request for changes to people turning up not doing Qualy only racing or can I jump in late and it causes additional headaches for the guys to sort out.
For Lime Rock we will be much more stringent on starting times and compliance. It is detrimental to the rest of the racers if people turn up late or change what they are doing mid-event. So please for the benefit of all can you make sure you're on time, using the right car, and stick to your plans.
Whinge aside - great racing

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
Jonotheone I think a lot of the issues we are seeing are related to this inactive player kicking option T10 brought in. We are seeing lagouts/disconnects but really it's not its all stemmed from update as 24 player lobbies work with no lag as done plenty in league mode. Lowering lobby sizes will only mean less cars when 4 lag out of smaller grids aswell lol.

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
i agree bud 24 player lobbys do work 8 out of 10 times iv been in full lobbys working fine altho no coms at all i only sugested lower lobbys for communications purposes as most people got caught out cus they never heard the start time and caused a restart many times...untill everything is full working when ever that will be i just sugested trying smaller lobbys so communication can be done either that or split to 2 parties and both party hosts communicates over fb or an instant messenger...as for the idle kick out t10 brought in i belive it is if your inactive for 60 seconds you get removed so it gives you a little time to sort the grid last night the grid wasnt even formed fully when they called a start time...all im saying is iv sugested an idea not to start a row or an argument but to give tora staff an idea to think about is all..i shall say no more on the matter as when the racing got going it was good and am hoping round two is better as i do thoroughly enjoy tcc when it comes round.CQR CHRiS wrote:Jonotheone I think a lot of the issues we are seeing are related to this inactive player kicking option T10 brought in. Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
Correct Magic, Forza 4 didn't use multiplayer servers it was P2P. Forza 5 and 6 use Microsoft Azure dedicated servers.
I've been racing 22-24 player lobbies since launch with no major lag or disconnection issues, until last Tuesdays update which added this inactivity kick, and now lots if people are getting disconnected, so its clearly a side effect if that.
Voice chat is a different issue, and not related to lobby size (you get voice chat issues even with 8 people in game chat in a lobby). Its probably a limitation of the CPU power available on the game OS (party chat runs on a different CPU core in the Windows OS).
I'm enjoying the broken game chat, finally get to race in peace and quiet without having to listen to 20 other peoples mics buzzing, TVs too loud, wife's and/or kids screaming in the background, and every move and incident being reported on like a TV commentary. Real drivers don't talk to each other during a race, so neither should we need to - if you need to call out an overtake, your doing it wrong...

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
No row or argument from me lol
It does give a time limit before inactivity but since update it is like it is seeing people as inactive while racing so is kicking them out. We noticed it as soon as update struck people who have never lagged out are lagging out now.
Regarding party chat, the only issue I see with that is you have the same issue as being in lobby chat, can only hear 12 people max. Yes it may work for the start but that's a small part of the race with the amount of laps, I would personally like the option of hearing the people around me at the time not 12 people in front or behind who are in party with me.
Can I ask for your start did everyone in the lobby try repeat the time as soon as they heard it? I would recommend that it really needs repeating by everyone that way people who can hear others will be passing it on so everyone should hear it in time.

This ^
I battled against a lot of cars last night and each and every one gave just enough racing room. The whole time i couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me, wasn't an issue though as if you are aware of the surroundings and have at least some spacial awareness then everything should be fine. I get that it was A lobby but you dont need to be quick to know that diving for a space that isnt there or you are too far back you shouldn't go for it. Also if there is someone right in front of you in the braking zone, its best for everyone that you break a little earlier than usual.

Re: WIX Racing TCC General Discussion
I agree guys. Ultimately, the chat is a luxury racers don't have in real life. That's why we're furnished with mirrors and windows...and eyes
Sometimes you just have to use a bit of nouse and wait a few corners to make the pass or encourage the guy/gal in front to make a mistake.
As I say at the start of almost every race here, you don't win it in the first corner!

i totally agree. With that mat but unfortunatly some dont understand that concept....i had a little nudge on tfr magic on the hair pin then we both got rammed in to i saw magic go abit wide and left enough room for me to get a nose in unfortunatly i clipped him (to which i apoligised instantly and allowed him to keep the place well he would of if we never got rammed by anothet driver who saw the incident but decided to drive right through us...any how....lets hope round 2 is much more productive lessons learn......Matt wrote:
