July 12th - NJ Carsport Comes through with a dominating perfomance at Sunset Peninsula
A great weekend for the Boys at NJ Carsport, with a One-Two finish in the Main event at Sunset Reverse.
DMR SWITCH had this to say about his performance today.
"This is Amazing! To be able to finish 1-2 like that! (still catching his breathe) What a race! For me, the day started off with qualifying, and i ended up leaving a bit on the table, but i tend to do that normally anyways. But, when the times were gathered and sorted out, to find Slim Stoner and I were to start the Sprint Race 1-2, i was then happy with my qualifying time. When the Sprint Race started, i was stuck on the outside line going into turn 1 which left the door open for Gashi and Butcher to get around me. but once i got the long straight on lap 1, i was able to get back by Butcher. i had JUST ran out of time to get around Gashi. i was right on his bumper going across the line at the end of lap 8. Gashi's BMW definitely has its strengths though. Then after that Sprint race, after the timing was figured out, i found i had gotten the pole position for the Feature race by a mere 0.030 seconds! I was able to lead the first 11 laps, until i had to pit. probably wouldve been less laps, as i knew Slim seemed to have found the extra time i couldnt in our DB9's, and it appeared there was a little incident between Gashi and Slim going into the slow-right hander in the opening laps. After the round of pit stops, Slim was able to get out in front of me and up to speed b4 i could get to him, and thats where we finished. Congrats to Slim Stoner and to the Team in general to get these Aston Martins to be where they needed to be! Now, if you'll excuse me, time for me to go clean up, and go party!"
We'll get Slim Stoner's comments about the race, and put up soon. once the celebration in victory circle has wound down.

Re: NJ Carsport News Feed
A Brilliant Weekend for both the NJ Carsport Aston Martins.
The Weekend Started off with Qualifying, with only 1 lap allowed i thought i would take it abit easy and keep the car on the track. To my amazement it put me on pole for the sprint race by just over .1 of a second from my team mate DMR Switch.
While i had done a fair bit of practice on Sunset Reverse, i hadn't done that many laps around the short version. I got a good start off the line and got around the first corner safe, sound and still in the lead. Once the first lap was over i was fairly confident i could take the victory in the sprint race, So i got my head down and just concentrated on getting a quick lap to get me in a good starting position for the feature! Not knowing what times to expect from the car around here i was very happy to find i had Qualifyed 3rd with my team mate DMR Switch getting the pole and King hill splitting us up in 2nd.
Now it was time for the feature race!
I got off to a good start jumping King hill and going into the first corner behind DMR Switch.
I followed DMR closely for the first couple of laps with Gashi keeping fairly close behind. On lap 3 i believe it was, i assume Gashi braked a little to late and went into the back of me. He apoligized and let me keep my spot... great sportsmanship
I was then roughly 300 metre's behind DMR, so i knew it was time to pile in the lap times and my gosh did i do exactly that. In practice i could only manage a 1:26.249 and i seriously didn't think i could go any quicker, but to my amazement i was running consistent 1:26.1xx's. I kept my eye on the gap between me and DMR and with no car in my rear view mirror to worry about, the gap was getting smaller every lap. DMR then pitted at the end of lap 11 and i was about 100 metres behind at this point.
I carried on pushing hard and ran a few 1:26.0xx's, damn that 1:25 was getting so close now! I pitted about 5 laps after DMR, as i was pitting i had my eye fixed on the gap between us!
As i came out the pits i knew i was in front, but DMR would be doing 170+ down that straight and i was not surprised to see an Aston getting closer to me very quickly! But i got into the first corner infront and a little smile appeared behind my helmet
This was it! the sprint to the finish. After a couple of laps warming up the tires i was straight back to the low 26's and only had 1 thing going through my mind... DONT BIN IT NOW YOU STONER!
Congrats to DMR and NJ Carsport for a superb weekend at Sunset Peninsula!
Now im off to finish celebrating!!

August 9th
A Great outcome for NJ Carsport. to finish 2nd in team championship points, and have 2 of 3 drivers finish in the top 5 for both Driver & sprint championships is remarkable! DMR SWITCH had this to say after the race..
"This whole series was a blast, and quite possibly the best racing ive been involved with. not to bash my own racing team im affiliated with, but this is great racing at its finest. to get the invite from Brnout Jersey roughly one week before the Season Opener at Mugello, and getting an overall finish of 7th, to having dominating performances at Sunset Peninsula and Sebring with teammate The Slim Stoner, and to finish back-to-back in the top 5 in both point catagories is great!.
I was nervous about today's events at Silverstone National and the GP, cuz of my less than par outcomes here in the past. but another 7th overall points day is better than i expected.
I was talking to Slim Stoner the other week discussing our lap times around a few tracks, and i found that our track prefferences are different. for instance, he enjoys Tsukuba, whereas i hate that place with a passion. and i LOVE Sebring (have also mentioned that i use it as my Nurburg test track at times), and he's not fond of it. and to also find out his and my driving style are very similar, and i think our performances have proven that. Since i made the switch to the DB9, we had basically been using the same exact tunes from there forward."
As for this Final race, DMR SWITCH had talked to the paint shop guys about using a slightly moddified livery for the Finale, but had decided not to run it a few hours b4 the race. We had a photographer handy to snap a few pics of the livery he had thought about using. Note, the Livery was the same, outside the base White & Black sections of the car were swapped. Again, SWITCH had even more to say, "I talked to the paint guys about this change for the Finale, and they abliged, but seeing there was little time left to get it approved, i had to use the original Livery for todays race(s)" sometimes, we cant get SWITCH to shut up in the garage.
