Hi I have our team ready and signed in for quali (SRD Motorsport) but due to a late car change I don't have the livery complete I do have onever on the car but it's the same livery as I had done for the bmw Z4 would there be any issues if the livery were updated between quali and raceday?

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Does anyone have a large group of drivers who are practicing for the race with both classes and collisions on? I'd like to get some extra track time against other drivers if possible.
If not, would anyone else be interested?

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Two Important Things:
Noticed today that the Ford GT with the race driveline stays at R866 PI, though the build calls for stock. It doesn't make a difference with the car, so those that are running the Ford GT, add the Race Driveline, save 5 lbs, be happy.
Second- I added this to the OP of the Long Beach Sign In thread, but mandatory stops are as follows:
Prototype- 6
GT- 4
If my data is off, please let me know. I figure every 25 minutes, the GT's would pit, and every 19 minutes, the Prototypes would stop.

I'm really sorry but this is a joke! I've been on much smaller organisations in regards to online racing but at 20.50 and their still setting up the lobby!!?? Typical TORA surely quali should not have been run so late on the Sunday on the day of the race?

Smaller being the keyword here. 140+ entries keeps organizers a bit more busy than a single, less than full lobby, event would be.
Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Well then you should have more plans in place to cope with large numbers surely if you don't have the man power to do this then why keep accepting entries? I appreciate no one is paid for this and it's all voluntary but obviously people are gonna get tired of huge delays.....after the MASSIVE delay in the first round of the British gt winter series I would have hoped lessons were learned from this?

Telling people they can't race is surely going to make people happier than racing with delays. Sure...
We could just race on days and times that are less convenient for everyone. Would have the same net effect.

Listen mate....I didn't ask for a sarcastic response why is it when a member trys to put a point across its met with either a sarcastic response or the points made are completely ignored? Or does reputation of the site and what TORA stands for count for nothing?

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
There was a little delay, some of that was caused by qualifying results not being made available to us, for some reason a host lost his times. My internet blew up for 20 minutes which didn't help. For complaints in that respect, please feel free to send fire to Sure (Isle of Man). Because they're a [Censored] ISP But then also we had to sort out appropriate lobby splits which is based off the people present for qualifying or marked as race only. It looked like most lobbies were alright, but things will only get better.
The racing in top lobby was great though, not many of my fears materialised as the GTs had good mechanical grip to not cause problems. Well chuffed with 3rd although that was in the end made easier by lag to Xyloto (some guys have no luck ), so me and Hamish only had each other to worry about in the end.

I'll take this one on the chin. I missed Griffus' time whilst entering data, and I apologized to him. It wasn't intentional. I've entered it as a 1:26.000 to not send the doc into disarray.
As for the delays... Let's start at the beginning. This series was initially set to begin qualifying at 3pm EST, then races after. After seeing what happened with British GT Winter Series, I wanted to avoid that, so I made a couple of extra sessions mid week to try and minimize the number of drivers qualifying all at once. 50 people qualified mid week, which took away 3 lobbies that would've otherwise ran today. That saved quite a lot of time, and we had adequate manpower for that.
Just after qualifying, we ran into issues, causing approximately a 45 minute delay from intended start times. One qualifying host had his screenshot mysteriously delete itself, so we had to track down the results through someone who was streaming. Another host had his router fail and we had to wait 15 minutes for him to pop back online and give us results. Because of these two things, we weren't able to get all times in until 3:00pm EST. So if you look at that way, without that sh*t happening, we would've started nearly dead on time. I'm sorry for these things happening, but we couldn't have prevented those things from happening.
I've spoken to quite a few people about the race and how it went. I apologized where I went for the delays, and everyone has been pretty reasonable about it. They understood that this was a lot to take on, both with the number of drivers and with the scope of what were trying to do. If I limited entries, people would've been upset if they didn't get a chance to sign up. If I had taken say the top 64, people would've been upset that they did all sorts of practice for nothing. So, that leaves gathering more manpower to run events, and if you take a quick look at this section, you notice that there's a thread called "Calling All Hosts".
In fact, I posted in there multiple times asking for help, explaining that the numbers were going to strain the amount of staff on hand for raceday. Instead of being part of the crowd that just expects things to go perfectly, why don't you offer to help? I'd greatly appreciate it- Many hands make for light work.
I'll reiterate- I asked multiple times for additional hosts throughout the week. A huge shoutout to those that stepped up tonight to help host, especially LMP Dragon and CBR Rabidus. To get invited to a party and to take on hosting a lobby without a blink of an eye? A hug and kiss for you each
I spent a lot of time on this series over the past two months, between balancing the cars, making threads, making docs, updating everything... I don't expect an "aww be easy on him because he did whatever", nor do I want one, but know that a lot of planning and dedication has gone into this. My goal is to give you guys a proper multiclass racing experience that you can say, wow, that was awesome". I'm doing what I can for you all, and I appreciate everyone's support. I hope to see you all (and more!) for Sebring and CotA!

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
OcR Brock had to start back of grid in Lobby 7 even though he qualified in Q1 with time of 1:22.156 in Adam Watson's quali lobby and was signed in for race and quali in plenty of time last week. Brock has his quali screen shot that shows his time. Any ideas as to how that is going to be adjusted Diablo?
Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
I thought things went pretty well, all things considered. Having 140+ people to sort through is a nightmare and as the first race there was always going to be some confusion.
My connection just can't handle hosting a room, but I tried to help Dragon out in room 4 with invites and all that. I think that's something we need more of - people who have decent connections that can host a room (lobby setup is posted in a thread anyway) and people who know the rules who can be race control. Hosts don't have to coordinate everything, but the more people who can help the better.
Overall my race went pretty well, even though I think I was placed in the wrong room. Had a pretty close battle with one of the FIA guys and got through traffic pretty smoothly. Kudos to the GT drivers who were in a separate party but still managed to know where we were on track and give room. Of course, I'm a fan of running laps at Long Beach, and the close-quarters racing. Just need to be patient and it's all good.
My two suggestions would be to have Q3 start 15-30 minutes earlier and to try and limit lobbies to 16 people - it might have helped with the on-track communication to have everyone in party chat.

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Allow me to add to what Diablo has noted. It rarely happens that any series, especially the first round, goes off without a delay of some kind. Veteran drivers of Forza league racing understand this and know it comes with the territory. Some formats are harder to juggle than others, even more so when the numbers increase. Multiclass racing is one such format. 150 drivers split into 2 or 3 classes is like running a spec race 0f 300, only harder. I know because back in the old days of the IFCA spec we had upwards of 250 drivers per round.
The real blame (if you want to go there) shouldn't be at the guys here at TORA for their outstanding volunteer effort, it should be at T10 for ignoring the league racing community and not giving Forza the options needed to run a proper league event without delays.
As it stands league organizers do the best they can with the limited options and inflexibility of Forza. Sometimes it works, and a lot of times it almost works. Hopefully, FM7 will be more league friendly.

Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Overall, apart from the 1 hour delayed start in our lobby that couldn't be helped, the racing was great. Thanks to CBR Rabidus for stepping up to host our lobby at short notice. Personally I had not one single issue with LMP cars sharing our lobby as they all gave me room and I did likewise allowing them past and therefore everything worked smoothly, I did hear some people complain about certain LMP drivers ramming GT drivers into walls and what not but I didn't visually witness such so cant comment further on it. Only complaint I have is the amount of stupid, non race related, childish and downright pathetic chit chat made by many in the lobby but no surprise as its always the same offenders who demonstrate total disregard for others in the lobby especially when asked by a few people to keep it to a minimum they still continued, ridiculous!
All in all a great nights racing and clean racing by majority of GT drivers. I had a superb hard but fair fight for much of the closing laps with GriffusMaximus as my tyres began to fall off but still managed to hold my position to cross the line. Great racing with you Griffus, really enjoyed it.

Yeah as said, race 1 of a series is the testing ground, this was it and we worked as fast as we could with the variables given (times lost etc) we're glad the racing was good, huge shoutout to all lobby hosts for the event and if you've got a good connection, please please please consider hosting for the next event as we can always use extra options for hosts
Re: American Sports Car Championship - General Chat
Shouts to Driv for being a super generous overtaker on GT traffic.
