Project CARS controller questions

So some people may probably know that Project CARS is on the games for gold lineup on xbox1, I have never played the game properly and am eager to play when it becomes free. I have only briefly played it once with a controller and it felt really clunky physics-wise, I was wondering how the game is to play on a controller in the long run, how it compares to the steering physics in the Forza series (Particularly FM6) and if there is a way to alter the steering settings and whether or not this was an effective fix?

Forza easier to pick and play with controller. However pcars you can tweak your controller settings to suit you.

Pcars still a good edition to your racing games for free though.
