Welcome to American Iron 2018
With more cars and options than ever, American Iron is back!
While we have retained the 40-50 minute mini-enduro format, reverse grids and passing points, and loads of upgrade options to build your car upon, we have a few new twists this time around...
This season, we'll be racing in both US and UK time zones.
The carlist now includes Modern Muscle as well as Hot Rods and Classics.
Unlike previous seasons, Aspiration Options are now wide open.

Re: Welcome to American Iron 2018
I notice there's no privateer championship for this series, so in light of that, does anybody whose gonna register as a privateer wanna team up? It doesn't matter what you drive because teammates can't be in the same car.

I'm cool with it, just throwing out the idea that if there's others out there who are gonna run privateer like me, we might as well team up. If not I'll just go solo and not worry about it.

Re: Welcome to American Iron 2018
No worries, homes. Hopefully some other privateers will join me or somebody will have an open spot, but if not, oh well. I'll be on the grid either way.

I am sorry for the oversight, but can assure you that there IS indeed a Privateers Championship this season. The old rule is a carry-over from a couple years back when only the highest 1 finisher from each team entry counted, hence no need for separate Team/Privateer championships. The original idea was to allow teams of one to contend for Team Championships, which actually worked well until we decided to go to a standard docs set.
Re: Welcome to American Iron 2018
Ah. I see. No worries man, didn't really bother me if there wasn't to be one, just figured I might try and find a team if there wasn't. Never mind then, I'll probly just go privateer in that case.

Re: Welcome to American Iron 2018
Hey guys, turns out, I am putting a team together for this series, and we are looking for a third driver. We're not one of the big permanent teams, so there's no commitment beyond this series, no mandatory practices (we do practice, but its just "show up when you can"), no team livery requirement (as long as it passes the series livery requirements, of course), and we're not really super-concerned about skill level. So if you're not running either the '69 Firebird or the '07 Mustang, and want a team to test and share tuning ideas with, either message me here or on xbox. We will be running in the U.S. division of the series.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Please remember to use the automated Sign In form for this series, which is scheduled to close 24 hours before each race.
Be advised that waivers on doing so will be scarce, so it is up to you to sign in properly.

Re: Welcome to American Iron 2018
Looks like quite a few folks in A lobby US last night forgot how to race last night. People were dive bombing everywhere, pushing 3 wide on the exit of the hairpin, brake checking each other on the first lap, and just generally using other people as brakes. I basically got no-braked by DRR Kicker into Turn 10, which spun me from entry all the way to the exit of the turn, around about 270 degrees into the middle of the track, where I got rammed again and got 100% damage. Barely an apology for completely ruining my race and apparently I wasn't the only victim.
Taps and bumps are to be expected with reverse grids, but the lack of spatial awareness and the divebombs from >50 feet back are not. I expect a lot better from the drivers in this series, considering it was the quickest lobby of the night.
I've included this handy diagram in case anyone else needs it. Sonoma is far more narrow and the corners are even slower, so I don't have my hopes up of there being decent racing next week either.

I second this. The diagram is really useful and I think it would be beneficial if a lot of people take a look at it.
