TORA ASCC - Round 4 Driver's Briefing & Track Limits Road_a10

Round 4 - Road America
Welcome to Round 4 of the American Sports Car Championship Season 2.  This week, we head up to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for "America's National Park of Speed," Road America.  Road America is listed with some of the finest racing courses in the world, and has hosted several different road-racing series in its long 61 year history.  The circuit was also born from a local SCCA chapter's need for a permanent racing venue.  In 1955, ground was broke to build the racing circuit that we all know today as Road America and has remained virtually unchanged since then.

Qualifying - Qualifying will take place 1-hour prior to race start time (2:00 pm EDT/7:00 pm BST).  Drivers will have 15 minutes to set their fastest, clean lap. Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to qualifying start, and should keep in-lobby chat to a minimal.

Race - The race will be a timed race lasting 90 minutes.  The lobby will be set to 1hr 40 minutes to allow time for drivers to finish the race and collect times.  A change this year is that the race time will include the pace lap, so drivers are asked to get into their grid positions as quickly as possible.  When 90 minutes has passed, drivers will continue to race until they race the start finish line.  Drivers will then line in in finishing order in Turn 1.

Pit Stops - There will be 2 mandatory stops for GT and 3 mandatory stops for DP.

If anyone has further questions, please post them in this thread.  Good luck, and I will see you all on track.

Probably a good time to state the obvious about the pit lane exit, travel the length of the broken white line down to the first corner before properly rejoining the circuit and use the mini map to look for fast approaching vehicles that may be pretty close before pulling out.
