TORA ASCC 2021 - Round 2 (COTA) Driver's Briefing and Track Limits
Welcome to the second round of the 2021 Season of the American SportsCar Championship. This week, we put on our Stetsons and cowboy boots and head south to Austin, TX for the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). COTA was built in hopes of to bring F1 to the USA, taking many cues from some of the world's greatest race tracks such as Silverstone, Istanbul Park, and Hockenheim. Early in its development, the circuits entire future was put into question when high-pressure gas lines, and unstable clay soils were found on site, raising the total construction cost much higher than anticipated. However, when the first F1 teams rolled out on to the circuit, COTA immediately captured everyone's attention. Since then, COTA has played host to the IMSA SportsCar Championship, the World Endurance Championship, and the Austrian Supercars Series.
Qualifying - Qualifying for ASCC will be a timed session lasting 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes have expired, racers will finish the lap that they are currently on before stopping on the back straight. Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to the qualifying start, and should keep in-party chat to a minimal.
