Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Want to know what a good lap time is or see how your pace stacks up?
This is the spot for that.
This is the spot for that.
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Daytona... my best is a 1:55.1xx, but I doubt I can recreate that lap. Seems my actual pace is mid to high 1:55s
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Hi
Is the track Daytona Sports car? I dont know Infield 24
My best is around 2:00 with the BMW 850, maybe i can improve a second. I am a beginner so i need to learn because dont know how to go around 1:55 you are great.

Correct on the track. And while I'm happily in the 55s, Harmonic and Diablo are flirting with 52s.
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Yes my choice is the BMW 850 just dont have the proper build i dont have much time for this. I tried more power big weight or less power with max weight reduction and the last was better so far. I am not a professional driver but improved a second its around 1.59 now.
Its normal aspiration without forced induction. What do you think about forced induction on this track? Is it better?

I didn't try forced induction on this particular car, but on those I did try, it made the car skiddish in the infield and it topped out too soon on the oval section. If it helps acceleration without compromising either grip or top speed, then by all means use it.

The car is already rather heavy add adding a Turbo or Supercharger is only going to make the car even heavier. If it works for you, that's great, but based on my instincts, I don't think it will be the best decision.
That being said, the painted lines in the Bus Stop can get bent

Thanks for the replies.
Yes i know its not the best choice but i like this car so i try to tame it.
Top speed is around 260 kph before the bus stop and a little more before the first turn.

I think it's a solid choice for the entire calendar, barring Daytona. Has loads of grip, which should really come in handy at most of the circuits, which makes it a good option for someone relatively new to TORA.
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
That 850 should do over 275 kph into Turn 1... I suggest setting the rear aero to the minimum setting if you haven't already.

Harmonic has a 52.8 clean.
Unless I discover something spectacular with my tune, I won't be doing 52's. I've got a clean 53.3 or so possible but I don't see much more than that. I had a car in mind to drive before the list was announced and even though I tested quite a few others, I went with that first one

I wouldn't worry about it too much man, those 52 low 53 times are professional/alien times. Everyone starts somewhere. Just keep the racing clean and have fun.

I've got a little bit of good news for you: the one's doing 52s and 53s are not in the EU series, they're in the US.
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Sorry guys i have lost connection in the middle of the race but it was a good one apart from that i was lost somewhere in the back LOL
Thanks for the good setup Aftermath, it was much better than mine without practice i could go an 1.59 (not in the qualy) but didnt have proper time to learn the new setup. Maybe next time.

Your BMW should be much better the rest of the season than it was for Daytona.
Re: Vintage Iron Lap Time Thread
Hi all.
Some lap times from the masters? Just for reference.
