Team Overview
Quakerstate racing (full name Quakerstate racing TTC team ltd.) is a TCC motor racing team. It was formed on 01 September 2009 when it was confirmed that Evothreesixty, the ex-technical director of ‘northern race engineering’, had bought the rights to run three Vauxhall Astra VXR’s within the already established 2009 season. The new team has planned to make its racing debut at meeting six of the TCC, held at the world famous Suzuka circuit.
The team utilises Vauxhall engines developed in partnership with 888 race engineering and Vauxhalls own development sector. Chassis development is an ongoing project within the team.

Team principal history
Evothreesixty (born 07 July 1980) is a British motorsport engineer and Quakerstate racing team owner. Evo has driven for many work teams within various racing disciplines. He has worked within a number of motorsport teams, serving as the technical director of Northern race engineering, he has returned to motorsport after a three year sabbatical. Evothreesixty has taken race number 111

Driver one profile

STREETF1GHTER80

Steetf1ghter80 is one of the most successful junior touring car drivers of all time, with five major junior touring car titles to his name including the Italian, Spanish, European and most recently German Touring Car Championships.
In 2005 he was just 7 points behind Dave Percival going into the final junior World Touring Car Championship round, but a crash early in the race robbed him of the chance to become the inaugural WTCC champion.
Streetf1ghter80 secured an amazing fifth major junior touring car crown and his second successive BTCC championship, ensuring his place in the record books whilst cementing his future in senior touring cars.

Driver two profile

Dave Percival

Dave Percival is one of the most experienced Junior drivers to move up to TCC, having had his inaugural junior season in the series back in 2000 with Team Dynamics.
As an independent entry in the junior BTCC at the beginning of his career, Dave often upset the established manufacturer teams by beating them. In 2002 at Donington Park he scooped a £250,000 prize by becoming the first independent driver in the modern era to win a race.
In 2004 Dave had his first stint driving in a Triple Eight prepared Vauxhall for the Egg Team, finishing third in the championship. He then returned to his family team in 2005, winning the first junior WTCC season just in front of his new teammate Streetf1ghter80.
The 2009 season will be Dave’s second in the Vauxhall Astra and after a solid 2008 that saw him take one victory at Rockingham and fifth overall in the Junior championship, he will be hoping to build on this success in the senior series during 2009.

Driver three profile

EVOTHREESIXTY

Andrew Jordan is undoubtedly one of the most multi tasked Touring Car drivers in the paddock. Having enjoyed a highly impressive career in engineering, management and indeed driving.
Although Evo has a very extensive list of race series under his belt, he is yet to grab any major silverware, often due to bad luck on and off the track. He has however been one of the leading figures in the development of race chassis and engines for some of the leading teams during the 1990’s.
Like many of his competitors Evothreesixty started racing at a young age, he secured the British Junior Rallycross Championship at the tender age of 14, before moving into the technical areas of the sport. Andy's first full season of circuit racing was contesting the 2000 Renault Clio Cup Series.
2009 represents a huge challenge for Evo as attempts to juggle both the management of the team and drive competitively throughout the rest of the 2009 season. Amongst his challenges will be adjusting to the new VXRQS1 specification of his Vauxhall Astra which he had jointly developed for the team.

‘I’m sure this will be the start of a very fruitful future for the Quakerstate team. We are incredibly excited to have brought on board both Dave and Streetf1ghter, we just hope that we can develop a car that can be competitive enough to show off the talents of these two guys, and hopefully myself too!’ says team manager Evo. ‘ In all seriousness we feel that the car has come a long way in the short time that we have been developing it. The car shows some great strength with just a few minor niggles which we are sure we can iron out between now and Suzuka. I am delighted to have secured some big name sponsors which will carry us through the rest of the season, with talks already underway for the 2010 season.’

In our next instalment we will talk to the drivers hoping to make a big impact on the closing stages of the 2009 season. We will also reveal the car for the first time with exclusive photography of the vehicles in action.

Keep watching!
