Re: Championship Discussion
But unfortunately whenever we test it always ends up in a crash every single lap at places like Sedona.
Oh well.. A few tracks to add to the calendar for some extra oval action would be Camino Viejo Mini (a bit like Lydden Hill's oval) and Benchmark Layout C, which is a flat oval that doesnt go through any warehouses.
Sunset is always raceable with most people if everyone is sensible about bump drafting, its a useful tool, but it can lead to massive accidents.
ps... READ MY OVAL RACING 101!!

Re: Championship Discussion
thank god then, cause this thread has me worried honestly. and nicky, that oval racing 101 is somewhat helpful, but only to people who aren't used to it. if people try and use that to learn how to race ovals, they're still gonna get surpassed by those who've dealt with ovals, in and out of the game

Re: Championship Discussion
Well it was really just a quick post in response to an oval racing night we had that ended in carnage. Just some quick pointers that related to certain incidents on that particular night.

Re: Championship Discussion
A possible problem that may occour
The problem in question is whether to have damage on or not, if damage is on at rounds such as Sunset drivers will be unable to bump draft due to the damage that the people doing this will get with front and rear bumper damage thus taking away teamwork and one of the main elements of Nascar so why not keep damage off for the large oval events and put damage back on for road courses? Just a though why do you guys think?

Re: Championship Discussion
i would agree there nick. the ovals could run with cosmetic, but if the races are long enough, mandate a pit stop

Re: Championship Discussion
I had a suggestion for the TASCAR I was going to bring up with regards to bumping. Yes, damage has to be off for Ovals so that bumping can happen. But I had an idea that would hopefully keep the pack closer together. The front runners in a race shouldn't be allowed to bump each other. This would mean that they have to go for normal drafting to try keep in front whilst the rest of the pack bumps their way back up to the front to catch the leaders. I dunno how this would work in practise, but say 3 drivers make a break for the frotn whilst the other 5 fall back for some reason. The 3 drivers can't touch each otehr whilst they are leading but the other 5 can bump each other to get back to the front. Once everyone is togetehr normal racing/bimping can resume until their is a very clear split again and the no bump rule comes into effect? Actually, it doesn't sound that good in writing
Re: Championship Discussion
I will be stipulating TWO series logos that have to be on the car.
Details on this will appear in due course but look at min and you'll probs be able to tell what I'm looking at.
Will also, as mentioned on podcasts previous, be working with Declan Brennan to come up with some good ideas for this series to make it as genuine as possible.
So no Carl Edwards-ing please!

Re: Championship Discussion
I am ecstatic for this series! I have my rep already and can't wait. Saturdays have my vote as well, because I would have to miss a round or two due to school and I'd like to attend as much as possible.

Would you be able to send me those logos? (Or atleast provisional versions) So i can get them spaced out on my Livery.
I'll be Running a Replica aswell but not of an American Stock Car....
But theres alot of Signwriting on the car so could do with an idea of spacing and layer levels so i can get it on there without having to pull a load of layers out of my design later.
Re: Championship Discussion
if i was able to race (definitely be able to if it was ran on Saturdays), i'd be running a Richard Petty replica. though, the Charger Stock Car's shape is terrible. might switch over to a Ford, as Petty-Evernham are running Fords in the Sprint Cup Series..

Re: Championship Discussion
I really wish we had the COT in the game, that would have made it ALOT better to do half decent reps btu they do still come out alright I guess.
Yes Slider I can send you the two logos. I think the only other stipulation will be the TORA window banner and thats it. I mean.... is TASCAR, you gotta be a bit more free eh?

Re: Championship Discussion
Thanks Matt i look forward to getting them!
I've had an idea that you guys might think good or atleast Semi interesting....
For the Spotters Guide pitures how about we have the cars facing to the Right instead of the left?
This then shows the side of the cars that fans would see from the Grandstands on all ovals making them much more useful as a spotters guide!
Just a thought.....
