UPR MOTORSPORTS NEWSLETTER - (08/12/2008)
Hi everyone and welcome to yet another issue of the UPR Motorsport newsletter.
Now normally we would do one of our usual reports. But sadly, it was a bad day all round for UPR Motorsports.
During the qualifying event, the team unveiled their new livery, which they would use for the rest of the season. Also, they were pleased to reveal two new sponsors from IKEA and MOTORSPORT NEWS.
But unfortunately despite this, it was a bad day in the office for KR15, Marchie and DAN.
Just before the cars lined up on the grid, DAN's engine wouldn't fire up. So that meant that he needed a new one; and it sent him from an exellent fifth on the grid to eigth.
KR15 had many incidents during the race with the Audi sport drivers and had to fight hard to make it back up to fifth. Finally, Marchie retired from a possible victory with a blown engine, so he ended up in seventh place. DAN managed to finish eight overall despite the three place penalty.
UPR still lead the teams chmpionship; but after a bad day, Audi Sport have managed to close the gap.
DAN 2605 has vowed that UPR will bounce back with a vengance next time out at Mugello.
Thanks for reading. A much better newsletter will come very soon.

Re: UPR MOTORSPORTS
Hello everyone and welcome to another issue of the UPR Motorsport Newsletter.
Round six of the British GT Championship was held at the Mugello Circuit.
iGr Short Sh1ft started third on the grid in his porsche. KR15 ONE and DAN 2605 only managed seventh and eight on the grid.
There was some drama before the race had even begun. On the warm-up lap, Mad Monk had a bit of a moment (shall we say), when he used the track and more to warm up his tyres. Everyone had somehow managed to avoid each other when Monk had spun back onto the circuit.
After that little drama, the cars finally reformed together for the rolling start. DAN 2605 had made a blinding start in the under-powered Lamborghini from last to be part of a five car sandwich by the first turn. Which is the right ingredients for a disaster.
On the exit of turn one, DAN and Short Sh1ft were running side by side with Karter. But in turn, AJtheButcher was very close in front of them. Sh1ft touched the back of Karter. Which then made Karter touch the back of AJ. AJ spins in front of Sh1ft. But Pole sitter didn’t react in time; which resulted in having a smashing moment with Sh1ft and AJ. All of this meant that a safety car was needed.
Once the race had restarted, Dan managed to get up to third ahead of Karter in his Lambo. But he loses the place back at the second set of S’s. But only after slight contact with Karter; which forces him onto the grass.
At the start of lap 5, DAN makes his move to get ahead of Nick. But, it was another case of déjà vu for the UPR Motorsport team. He leaves his braking a bit too late and runs wide onto the gravel. At the same time, he nearly collects the back of Monk.
DAN loses two places to AJ and his team mate KR15.
Just a few corners later, AJ runs wide. KR15 and DAN make it through. But at the same time, Dan was overtaking his team mate. He goes through, but KR15 is now involved in yet another incident; with AJ and his other team mate Sh1ft. Three a breast as they went into the right hander. While Sh1ft made it past them both, AJ and KR15 were forced wide and into the gravel.
Pole sitter manages to go passed them both as well. Meaning now that AJ is seventh and KR15 wound up last.
On his charge back through the field, Sh1ft makes it past his team mate DAN on lap six. Three laps later, he makes it past Nick to take third place by the end of lap.
After the pits stops, DAN had all sorts of problems getting his new tyre’s up to temperature. As a result, he went off the road twice in the lap. On the exit of the first quick right hander, he lost his fifth place to AJ. And he missed his braking point for the last corner.
Just one lap later, Nick had got his rear wheel caught on the gravel; causing him to lose the back end of his car. He lost one place in the process to Short Sh1ft, dropping himself to fourth place again.
All this drama had one more twist in store. iGr Short Sh1ft looked like he was in a secured third place to give his team some good points after a frustrating race for the UPR outfit. But he was trying instead to catch the two Audi Sport guys at the front. All of a sudden, he runs wide at the first of the fast right handers. Dropping himself to fifth.
The UPR Motorsport guys ended a disastrous race with Short Sh1ft fifth ahead of DAN 2605 in his Lamborghini Gallardo and KR15 ONE in seventh place.
After this round, UPR has lost the lead in the teams championship to Audi Sport. DAN was the only one who would slightly co-operate with anyone and says that the team needs to take steps forward to stay in the hunt for the drivers and teams championship.
Thanks for reading. Another issue of UPR Motorsport newsletter coming soon!

Nice one Dan!!!
And to be fair, when making "the impossible overtake" on Kris and AJtheButcher, I did keep my line quiet tight

Re: UPR MOTORSPORTS
After another disappointing race at Sunset Infield, the news has just come through that DAN 2605 will no longer be racing for UPR Motorsports. He feels that joining a top rated team had finally had it’s consequences. Also, he feels that his hard work is not paying off with the team. Here is the fully released statement from DAN himself:
“Hello to one and all for coming to hear what I’ve got to say. Basically after another frustrating race at Sunset infield, I have decided to withdraw myself from the UPR Mototrsport team. If you are wondering, this is not a reaction to what happened to me at that race.
Basically my explanations for leaving are simple. Firstly, I feel that all of the hard work that I am putting into testing for the team are not paying off. Since Laguna Seca where I was robbed for a win, I haven’t had any luck in any of the races. I’ve had to drop down the order because of internet problems, suffered with lag or just basic problems either in my driving or with the car.
Secondly, I have only picked up points for the team twice. At Laguna Seca when my team mates didn’t turn up; and at Mugello when myself, KR15 and Marchie had a terrible race. Other than that, my team mates have picked up the rest of the points for the team. And I don’t feel any satisfaction or feel motivated anymore because of this.
I would like to thank Marchie and KR15 for giving me an opportunity to be with this team. But I feel that because of there form and the car that they are using, I feel that I am not needed in the team anymore.
I am currently in talks with Marlboro to see if I can not only get sponsorship with the Seat Cup, but also for the Brit GT. I’ve got nothing more to say apart thank you UPR and I wish you the best of luck for the future”

Re: UPR MOTORSPORTS
hmmmmm, sad to heard dan. I know what you mean whne you aren't driving for team points due to the top two drivers doing the scoring, but imo i would have just stayed with them for the last two races and then set up a team of your own for season 4
Re: UPR MOTORSPORTS
Sad to hear but try driving a seemingly pointless season
Does'nt pay to re-join halfway through lol

You're mate Monk took me off at the corkscrew on the last lap. And instead of giving the place back, he just drove off! That's what I mean!
