BTCC 2011 Technical partners announced
Ok, sorry i know this is a little early to be talking about the 2011 season, but the information has something i am personally very pleased about and i would like to share it.
TOCA have announced their technical partners and suppliers to the 2011 BTCC. GPR Motorsport, AP Racing and Cosworth Electronics will be supporting the 2011 series with Xtrac () becoming the sole transmission porvider for the series.
Taken direct from the xtrac website:
Note the final paragraph about the NGTC prototypes.
So i shall be able to keep you op to date with the goings on in more detail on the technical side of the BTCC now. and by the time 2011 comes round i could be manufacturing most of the parts for the BTCC porducts. god help the series!!!!

2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship
The 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will see Xtrac as the sole appointed Transmission supplier / Technical Partner to the series, building on the plethora of championships where Xtrac is already an approved or exclusively approved supplier. Xtrac are extremely proud and feel privileged to have been selected by TOCA along with other thoroughbred suppliers such as GPR Motorsport, AP Racing and Cosworth Electronics to support this championship.
Taking effect in 2011, the cars will have a performance parity with current S2000 cars until 2013, after which time the performance of the NGTC cars will be increased. Xtrac are designing a new front wheel drive (FWD) transverse gearbox to suit the regulations whilst one of their existing longitudinal sequential gearboxes is already suitable for the rear wheel drive vehicles.
Testing of the FWD gearbox is due to be completed in October with production supply commencing thereafter. The prototype NGTC car will also take part in the official BTCC practice sessions at the final round of the 2010 championship at Brands Hatch in October.

Re: BTCC 2011 Technical partners announced
hmmm, i will atleast be trying.
tbh we have been doing most of the teams for several years now, mainly the BMW's and Seats and 888 cars. usuall with bigger budgets
but to get all 22+ cars will be great!

So will the teams be borrowing the car and sharing it around? Or will we see a couple in teams livery?

No, I'm asking if the protype will be shared around so different drivers can get a feel for it or if teams will snap them up. Or have I missed something

well I'm not to sure on the specifics yet. Mate, however I should imagine it will be purely those interested on running the cars in 2011. It's is mainly to help toca understand how the two. Classes will compare infill everyone has to migrate to ngtc in 2013.

Alan Gow has a chat with TcT: http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=4705
"Yes, we're in constant dialogue with the Swedish, or Scandinavian championship as they call it now, and they're obviously looking at what they're going to do with their regulations going forward too."
"You'll see a gradual changeover in the next couple of years, I don't expect a rush of teams to go and build new cars or whatever, it's really as a replacement for what they've got - so when the current teams current machinery starts to run out of life if you like, I'm sure you'll find they'll start building some new ones."
Two interesting quotes to take from that.
