Re: TDU2
Im waiting to see what everyone says about it before i buy it dont want a grid, race pro or F1 pointless never really play anymore game
Re: TDU2
TDU1 was superb chucky! that game was the reason i got XBL. my thought pattern: "if i am having this much fun offline, there's got to be millions of other people enjoying the game online". so i went down to the local GameStop, grabbed a Wireless adapter for my original 360, tapped into my landlord's wifi (he gave me free access to it), signed up for the XBL Gold, and the multiplayer-online was EPIC! there is NO reason why i wouldnt get this one. with what ive seen they've improved on and added, this one will be far beyond Epic. i sure hope Amazon ships it fast. i wanna play this this weekend (before the ISCC race at Tsukuba)
(as i was typing this, i got an email saying it got shipped. )

Re: TDU2
I cant really remember TDU1 I know I had it and I believe it was good but I never played it online. but lately alot of games aint been like what shown, grid looked really good, but wasnt. F1 looked fantastic but full of bugs. Is this another one really good but will have problems with it some where. I remember the days when I game would come out it be great and there be no updates for it to fix things what dont work right. nowadays ever game has at least one update to it I think after you pay out the money for it it should be good on day one and not pop up loads of bugs and glitches and have to suffer for a couple of months while an update gets made then approved. rant over lol
Re: TDU2
Same! Oh this is going to be awesome, doubt I'll really get much practice in if any for the ISCC. TDU was the best game I've played and I still play it everyday to this day. TDU2...smooth roads....casino...off road...weather. AHH overload of epicness.

Re: TDU2
I'm waiting for at least a couple of weeks to dive in on this one. I'll let my friends be my beta testers. I know I do it enough with the amount of crap games I buy and trade back in for half price a month later. I'm looking at you EA!!
Re: TDU2
First reports i heard is it's kinda buggy at the moment but expect it to be fixed pretty soon.Don't know whether to pick this up or not, thought the first one was pants.Sounds promising though.

Re: TDU2
Here's an intriguing idea from Game (sorry US guys - UK only):
Pre-order TDU2 today for £39.99, play it, and trade it back in by 24th February to receive a guaranteed £35 trade value (immediate exchange or credit on a gift card) - so you get to play it for 3 weeks for £4.99.

Re: TDU2
Once past the "press start" screen, you are asked to create a save file for autosave, after that you are stuck with a shot of a random car and some ibiza scenery, which switches through three angles for ten minutes before I gave up and tried to figure out what was wrong, during the 10 minutes i was pressing every button imaginable to try and get further into the game than the fricking start of it.
If thats not a bug then I'm a dutchman.

Re: TDU2
Hand up, who's been to Ibiza for real?
I'LL be the judge of whether it's any good or not..... after you guys have given your opinions.
I did have the first one, and enjoyed it for a little while but to be honest, if I want to drive around all day I can get in my car and do that.

Re: TDU2
Wow - truly aweful character models and definitely last generation graphics. I hope the gameplay is good.
Re: TDU2
I have YET to get my copy of TDU2 in the mail from Amazon. I pre-ordered it a week or so before launch, the game launches this past Tuesday, and it doesn't ship til the day AFTER! And last tracking update, it has left arizona Wednesday afternoon. This will be the last time I pre-order a game from Amazon. The previous time, I pre-ordered Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver from amazon, one was sold by target, (through amazon) and that arrived the day before launch, which I can understand because of the Sunday launch, the other that was sold by amazon directly, didn't ship until the day after launch.
Guess I'll pre-order all my games from gamestop/target from now on.

Re: TDU2
Works in offline mode only.
Utter Cheese plot introduction wise. Worse than the first NFS Underground game, Starting off in ibiza, with more americans than saving private ryan.
The feeling of driving the car at high speed is ok, i guess the steering is a bit off, but that's my take not yours, the graphics are freshly baked from the first TDU, nothing new there.
Tried to bump my console back online whilst in game, still didnt work. This is a bigger disaster than what happened with Race Pro.

Re: TDU2
Interesting you say the graphics are poor, I still believe TDU 1's car models are alot better than any I've seen on Xbox. If the graphics engine is the same, I would be happy with that.

The car models are not too bad, but not particularly detailed. I think it's the lighting that really makes it remind me of NFS Underground 1, or GTA3. I totally understand that (having worked on a number of MMO projects) you need to dial down the level of graphical detail when you have so many "unknown elements" aka players, in one environment, seeing as it takes a lot of server processing power to keep track of what everyone on the shard is doing at any one time, however that means that you have to counter-balance that with something else. Strong story writing, replay value (epic loot!), great gameplay, whatever. However if there isn't that certain something which is "above normal", then it kind of makes the reasoning for making the graphical sacrifice pointless. I mean, why make so many sacrifices to make such a big sandbox (Ibiza/Oahu) if no-one wants to play in it? Just make a smaller one that everyone wants to play in!
At the moment, it looks like this game is going to sink or swim based on what the players make for themselves within the provided environment. The solo game just seems too weak....at this stage (and that's v.v.v.v. early impression. Although, it's no good having all the cool stuff at the end of the game if no-one can be bothered to get that far because the road to it is too dull).
