Re: BTCC 2011
I reeeeeaaaaaaaalllly like that, tbh.
So we are potentially looking at two Toyota Avensis, two Audi A4s, a Skoda Octavia, a Proton Gen-2, and a Vauxhall Insignia being on the grid in NGTC form for the start of next year. And that's before the big teams like Dynamics, Motorbase, WSR, and possibly RML get developing their NGTC cars.
Looking forward to seeing the new Snetterton 300 track host this weekend.

Gotta say I really like it. I need to have a wee chat with John Thorne about the Insignia see what I can find out!!
Looking forward to seeing all these NGTC cars in action though.... hopefully competitively!

Re: BTCC 2011
Impressed by Welch in 20th but incredibly impressed by Wrathall in the Avensis in an extremely impressive 7th place on the grid!

Re: BTCC 2011
3 great races today, Shedden scored well, Wrathall looked great in race 1, and Newsham made a fight of it in race 3.
But amazing, amazing move from Shedden to remove that bit of bodywork, even the missus was laughing at how cool that was!

Re: BTCC 2011
I'm a massive Flash fan, but I have to say that was a risky move. The wing could have gone anywhere, and if he had broken his steering then it could have caused a big accident.
That said, he had the guts to admit it, so I hope he doesn't get penalised.

Re: BTCC 2011
According to my trusty sources on Ten-Tenths, we will be seeing a Chevrolet Cruze built to the next-gen rules for next year.
Also, who is heading up/down/across to Knockhill for the next ToCA meet?

Re: BTCC 2011
Sorely tempted, not been since 2009. But £30 is money I don't have just now, still got a service and road tax to cover in September.
We'll see.
And RML could throw together an NGTC Cruze no problem. Hope they do.
Was interesting to see in Autosport that Dynamics are building a WTCC project for Honda. Who's that looking for a drive? That guy that split with his team in the STCC recently? Yeah, you know, him that drove half of the 2009 BTCC season with Team Dynamics. Aye, him that has driven a works Honda previously in the WTCC, and says he has unfinished business. Oh, what's his name again...?

Turns out it is somebody simply reading too much into the Chevrolet Sweden ''We're behind you STCC!'' story on TCT... Although it probably just means either this years BTCC or WTCC n/a S2000 car will be used for next years STCC...

Re: BTCC 2011
Yeah, the S2000 Cruze is elgible here until 2013, and in the STCC until 2014. But still, RML could throw together three NGTC Cruzes for about as much as they build one S2000 one for. With NGTC adoption in two major series they are involved in, maybe they will commit.

Re: BTCC 2011
Less than a week to go till Knockhill.
Chris Swanwick is confirmed for a second RAR Audi A4 for the final two meetings of the season, and GSR's BMW, now with Turbo power, is rumoured to have Martyn Bell as its driver.
I'll try and get lots of nice photographs to put up here. Knockhill's ''American Style'' pits, with all the teams in the paddock with awnings rather than garages that face the pitlane means you can have a real good look at the cars in the paddock. And those of you who are used to some of the more modern circuits in England and the USA will be shocked to see just how damn close the spectator areas are to the track.
Being Scotland's only major car racing event, the BTCC really is a big deal up here. I'm expecting massive crowds as usual.
