Re: BTCC 2011
Is there a definite list of NGTC Engines available?
Off the top of my head I can only think of the TOCA and Honda engines. Will Arena be developing their own? Have they already?

Re: BTCC 2011
Arena have developed their own and i'm sure that they've tested it as they were testing at Brands a while ago with no Calor stickers on we have the Honda one and the TOCA one. I wonder what Chevy are going to do!

Re: BTCC 2011
I would expect them to stick with the S2000 powerplant just now. Being a works team and being involved with the S1600T engine doesn't give RML much justification for building an NGTC engine... for now at least.

Re: BTCC 2011
Neil Brown Engineering are doing the Honda engine, Mountune are doing the Ford one, and the rest are Swindon.
At the end of the day, Chevvy/RML could always lease the Swindon engine if it means competing with the rest of the front-runners. I'm sure their budget could reach to that. While I do seem them sticking with the S2000 one, it'd make sense moving to the Swindon one to maintain parity. After all, is the NGTC Swindon engine not developed from the Vauxhall 2 litre redtop that is in the Cruze?

Re: BTCC 2011
Anyone seen the question posed to Alan Gow on btcc.net recently?
There's been speculation that the BTCC would move from having the numberboard on the door to the window, like in V8 Supercars.
Alan Gow has confirmed it is being looked at.

Re: BTCC 2011
Yeah, there was some discussion with regards to this on Ten-Tenths. I think its a fantastic idea, it should make it easier to spot drivers for the spectators, and it will give us some nice liveries

Re: BTCC 2011
Much better, although I don't know what you mean by saying it's easier to spot drivers. It just the same number but on the window. If you don't know the driver's number or window banner colour you won't be able to pick them out anyway regardless of having the number on the window or in a box on the door.

BTCC drivers reveal their true colours...
You may want to ask Jason Plato about that picture in the interview as well

Re: BTCC 2011
Mat Jackson confirmed for Airwaves Racing for 2011.
http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=5676
So that puts an end to speculation he was about to partner Plato at Chevvy. Wonder who they'll get now?

Re: BTCC 2011
Andy Jordan confirmed at Team Eurotech alongside Jeff Smith. Both running NGTC-engined Vectras, as expected. Smith is using the ex-Pinkney car.
And first shots from the Autosport International Show confirm a long-standing rumour, that the numberboards are gone and the driver numbers will be displayed from the windows, ala V8 Supercars.

Re: BTCC 2011
They should allow alphanumeric vinyls and flags to be applied to windows in FM4. And solid-colour powder coated rims.
Re: BTCC 2011
WSR are hoping to have a ''dispensation'' to allow the S2000 BMW to compete. BMW Motorsport are not allowing them to use any NGTC powerplant. RML will, however, be competing with an S2000 Cruze like last year.
And talking of NGTC powerplants... There will be atleast four different 2 litre turbo engines on the grid next year, the Swindon TOCA Engine, the Lehman VAG Engine, the Mountune Ford Engine and the Neil Brown Honda Engine. The Audi's have yet to be confirmed.
