Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Do any of the cars ever get easier to control once you fully upgrade them or just start using actual race cars?

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
they're all about the same, i have figured out a way to have a wheel center itself, and actually feels more like a real wheel with resistance

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Put weights on the back of the wheel towards the bottom. I noticed that a couple of wheel that i have gotten from a couple of manufacturers have little holes in the back of them so i just took a couple of screws found out where the center of the sterring is and screwed the weight into those 2 positions where now it centers it'self for the most part and has resistance to it.

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
eh, I don't want to take my wheel apart when I cannot get a new one until May
Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
no need to take it appart if it already has those holes on the back side worm, just need to find little weights to attach on and screws that'll fit

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Yeah I have a MS wheel and a pic would be great. If it's not immediately reversible I probably won't do it though.
Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
I do not imagine it will stand for long, but here it is anyway ;O)

Hiya, I have found there to be huge differences in driving styles, feeling, reaction, grip, etc for different cars in comparison to most games I've raced on. In the main its good but some cars feel like Shift 1 does now. Mainly the Bugatti Veyron at Ambush Canyon!!!
But then I received a gift car, the Corvette Z06. ITS TRUELY AMAZING. Grip, reaction, sound, all without tuning. Like race pro but better and with these graphics. ;O)
My hope is that the patch brings most cars towards how that feels.
Tuning also makes a huge difference.

Have to agree Matt, the Z06 is amazing. I've got mine built (not tuned yet) to just below Works spec and it's just sublime to drive.
Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
I've not tried GT1 yet, though I now own a Lambo.
GT3 is pretty stable, but so fast that when it goes wrong, it's instadeath.
I think the real key to this game is understanding the weight transfer in corners, and simply not taking them too fast. Slow in fast out has never been so necessary! I have to say though that I am finding that I can string fast, smooth laps together now. I finished the Retro challenge against DM, which when I first started, could not see a way to get anywhere near him without cheating and going banzai into a corner and wiping him out because his acceleration and top end were so fast, but in the final race at Suzuka West, after a few tries I beat him fair and square with a clean pass 2 laps from the end. I was so pleased with myself that I saved the replay. Will share on my wall when I get home later.

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Yeah I have to say, it's very easy to overdrive the cars, which takes some getting used to, driving within the cars ability really helps the feel of the game and usually makes you quicker.

How do you get the Z06? The car lot only has the GT3 and GT1 Corvettes.

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
This game has it out for me. I finally manage to get around the Nurburgring in 1st place in whatever invitational has you in the McLaren, and going around the last corner before the long straight, I get disqualified because my engine blew. Unbelievable...

Re: Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed
Which Lambo are you guys using? Seems to be the car of choice for hot lapping as it's at the top end of all the autolog walls.
I tuned a Dodge Viper SRT10 to works spec last night. That thing is bat**** crazy!!!
