ISCC Nurburgring Preview
Two days time sees the TORA move to the Nurburgring, a hugely popular circuit where manufactures do battle on the Nordschleife for the fastest time. Round 4 does not use the 13 mile circuit, but will instead use the 4 mile Nurburgring GP circuit, a shorter version built in 1984, which was 8 years after the infamous incident where Nicki Lauda had nearly been burned out in his own car.
In P1…A lot has changed. Although Veni Vidi Vici P1 and Gulf Austin’s Motorsport are still here, RKMotorsports has now evoled into a 2 car team. In the Peugeot squad, the seemingly sudden disappearance of Phenomenal Racers and Peugeot Sport Total means that they’ve had to hire a new team to try and counteract the surge of R15’s and Lola’s. So returning to place Peugeot pride on the line is 2d Tuning and PLOW Berty. The new team that they’ve had to hire is Ravenwest Racing.
Meanwhile in P2, the newly formed Highcroft Racing (which finished 2nd at this years Sebring 12 Hours) is joined by Aero Dynamics, Team Horag and Sonic Racing. Also in the hunt for honours in P2 is the privateer team known as Eizox Sport. They’ll be running the Lola B09/86- Mazda. Again, none of the teams from the Asia leg are returning. In fact all of the P2 teams from the Asia leg aren't returning.
With that said, the GT2 battle is going to be just as intense, with M&M Racing developing a new front end aero package. They’ll be pursued to the flag by VVV GT2, Phenomenal Racers (who have switched over from the P1 class) and Momentum 99 THR to name a few.
As far as we are concerned, this one is going to quite a free for all. With all the new teams and changes coming around, the TORA ISCC is going right down the wire, and theyll be fighting with all the power they can muster!
