Sitting Down; With Ben Chalk
Down in the garage of the No 10 Peugeot, you'll find a dissapointed but almost certainly optimistic Ben Chalk (iZ GunDaM). He finished 4th overall, and now knows the objective when we next go racing at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. We sent our trackside reporter to ask how his race went
Track Reporter: Excuse me, have you been on the internet again?
Ben Chalk: No, not at all!
TR: Oh alright. Anyway, how did your race go exactly, and what happened with the GT2?
BC: I think well. During the start of the race, I was putting up a suprisingly good fight with Michael in the Audi R15 and at a couple of points in the race, I did think I was gonna get by the Audi. But as soon as we hit traffic, I suddenly lost all momentum and couldn't get it back. In other words, Micko got by okay, and I didn't. As the collision with Ferrari... Well, it was just after the corkscrew and I was trying to get by Mark. He turned in to soon, and at this point I had made the decision long back that he was getting by unscathed. So basically, he turned in to early and I sideswiped him.
TR: Do you think you can win at Road America now youve seen the epic qualifying lap that put you less than half a second behind the Audi?
BC: Yeah. And considering the fact that I was pushing him to near braking point during the beginning of the race, I think its time that victory lane came back to me. In other words, don't dare try and count me out!
TR: Thanks for your time Ben, its always an honour. Ready up for Road America!
