Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
Right near the end when my Xbox froze.
After about 35 minutes I had to put up with a disappearing track and this damage screen CONSTANTLY - thus I had no map, no timer, nothing. Couldn't see [Censored] basically. Apologies to Dan who I tried to get out of the way, I couldn't see the track boundaries. Was going to post a video of it all after the race but obviously it froze so I couldn't do a lap round a texture-less Camino. Good job I anticipated it happening and I put the racing line on.
Nevertheless, well done MOPAR for being the only LMPC to finish the race
Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
Ballbags
The race was an easy win, until 10 mins til the end, and then wrecked it. 100% front and both side, and 69% rear damage. Then finished joint last.
I'm rather pissed off.

OMG! OMG! I cannot believe my luck! YEEE HAAAAA!
But I would like to give out my commiserations to Magictap and Berty for that unfortunate incident as well as Magic's wheel ceasing up on the penultimate lap.
I just genuinely can't believe my luck. I was ready to settle for third place with two laps to go when I saw Magictap parked up at the chicane. Just a few hundred yards later, Berty left the pits as myself and Mikem was starting the final lap. I cannot believe I have won this race!
Bli33ard, don't worry about that incident. I can give out some advice though which is that you don't have to move out the way when a faster car is approaching. It's my job or anyone elses in LMP1 to find our way through the slower traffic. You stick to your racing line! But don't worry too much mate. I was over it after a few minutes.

Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
I'm gonna sound like I'm moaning but oh well, I don't see how someone in a lobby below can pass someone in the top lobby?? I chased magictap for nearly the hole race and even with he's broken wheel I couldn't pass him. And yet two people in a lobby below passed me? It makes it worse that lobby b had no lmpc cars to pass which means even more of a clear track. Sorry but it's one thing I really don't get it means that if I'm quick but had bad quali, I can just fly round in lobby b with less traffic and win the race?
The other thing is the 10 second penalty. Wtf???

plenty of action.
Cody and Trooper wrecking right in front of me...to Culchi spinning in front of me right after the pit straight...
The prototypes always seemed to catch the GT cars at the chicane. And i'm afraid that last lap incident that gave dan the victory was because i was so slow through that chicane. That caused berty to take evasive action and magic and him to come together.
Lot's of blind crests and elevation changes meant that you had to carefully plot where you wanted people to overtake.
very exciting. would have been even better if we had full lobbies...but with 10-8...it did go very very smoothly...and everyone's paints loaded so i'll take some photos soon.

Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
Yet another great race! Extemely happy with with my podium fiinish here. Even with only 6 GT cars running for the event, there was still some great competition.
The Jauguar ran perfectly for the race. I was a little worried as I had been struggling with the car in the last few practice sessions before the race, but, managed to pull myself together for the qualifying.
GLR Evoluzione showed an exceptional amount of determination throughout that race after getting tangled up with his team mate early on. My hats off to him.

To answer the first bit, we have (for this series) decided that total finish times are the way to simulate as if all the cars on the track in the same lobby, we have done this for the 2nd year now. this is the first complaint we have had over it, we will look into what you pointed out as this is an issue, but we try to make it where everyone has at least 2 people to race through out every lobby, so your argument could go either way with the people in each lobby. but we will try our damndest to rectify this
the 10 second penalty we have implimented this starting this year as opposed to a 5% power handy cap, this handy cap would only get as low as 20% and would be capped, this new handycap allows for it to continuously build. we dont add it onto the end of your finish time as it creates false racing (whats the point of racing someone nose to tail if the person ahead of you is really 10 seconds behind?) we impliment this penalty to create balance in the championship that way one person doesn't walk away with it, making the points much much closer.
I hope this answers your question you bring up a fair point about the classes in each lobby and we look to rectify what mentioned

Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
The point is though even if we were all on the same track and people behind were catching up does that mean there going to pass me? I couldn't get past magictap for the hole race and because of he's wheel I was clearly faster. I cruised up to the back of him and because of the affect of the aero I just couldn't get past which is fine it's what I expect. But all the time we battle with eachother we could be getting passed by people in a different lobby. Makes no sense to me.

well if in qualifying you were to lag out before you could even set a lap time you're sent to the back of the grid. instead of having your chances of winning the race overall or in class ruined you now have a chance, that is the beauty of it.
yes you could have been passed while battling with magic, however so was magic. you're not the only one this effects we make it where no matter where you qualify you have a chance to win the race. I would think the other way to score the races is that A lobby is scored ahead of B lobby, works great but what if you were to have mechanical issues and finish on the lead lap just barely, however a person in B lobby has a flawless race and finishes well on the lead lap due to hard work and at some point he did in fact pass you in on the circuit though time. Would it be fair to that person if A lobby is classified ahead of him just because the person in A lobby stayed on the lead lap even just barely? no! How we have scored the races for the last year have worked extremely well so we have not changed it

Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
@Berty - I understand how frustrating it can be, but its a bit part of the excitement of the ISCC. You need to push extremely hard in A lobby, even if you are racing on your own, to make sure you finish in front of the people who are chasing you down in B lobby.
We decided to split the lobbies if we had to so that we could have a good number of LMP and GT cars in each one, therefor we needed a way of balancing the results as the people in B lobby in LMP cars obviously are going to finish ahead of A lobby GT cars. If we split the lobbies and finishing positions then you woul dget a bit of a skewed view of the race. The people in lobby B also have time added onto their start time to delay them a bit so that the people in A lobby get a but of a jump on them.
The 10 second penalty is our attempt at success ballast. We can't add weight, and the restriction on horsepower became a bit useless in last seasons ISCC so we thought we would try hold drivers in the pits to delay them a bit. We tried it in ISCC Asia before Xmas and it didn't seem to raise any issues, however the field wasn't particularly big and some people were mainly racing on their own in some classes anyway. We can review it after a few rounds to see how it is playing out, but it means you won't have one next time out

It's fine mate just one of those things I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I braked to avoid you magic would of hit me and if I didn't brake I would of killed you at that speed lol you did nothing wrong it's our job to get past you mate. Considering I gave you a couple of heart attacks earlier in the race I'll let you off.

Re: MSA TORA ISCC Europe Round 2 - Camino Extreme 5/2/2012
the lobby splits with total distance I can stomach, even agree with, but a 10SECOND success balast when the P1 cars a a mere couple of 10th apart and very well balance is quite frankly far to large.
Just my opinion.
Just my opinion.

How did you think I felt in the Asian series last year? I had a 10 second penalty for Tsukuba (tiny track that it is) and I still managed to win. I subsequently had 20 and 30 second penalties for both Motegi and Le Mans and still suceeded mainly due a lot of luck!
You just have to accept the penalties we recieve and go for the best result possible. I find the pit penalties to be fairer than the power handicap system from last year. We ain't gonna win everytime, I wish that was possible!
I was just absolutely amazed last night at my luck when I saw you and Magictap were having issues. I defernately didn't have the pace to win, and after the contact with Bli33ard, I was ready to settle for third place on the podium.
It's just the name of the game really. You win some, you lose some.
