Re: F430 Test drive
I saw one in London.
In fact, I saw about 4 of them in London.
And I saw a 458 Italia driving around through Glasgow's inner city one time too. Very surreal.

Re: F430 Test drive
It was amazing! There's nothing like the feel, sound, handling and performance of Ferrari that I've ever experienced in a street car. The car looks much better in person then in the pics. Being near it was like being near a really hot super model. It warps reality and your senses, at one point I looked at the speedo and was doing 80, then realized I was in a 55. We got onto a toll road with a speed limit of 75 and without even thinking about it I got it into 5 gear and was doing over 100. I would have gone even faster but with a $160K car, some roads I'd never been on and no radar detector, I backed off. Our route took us within a mile of the Austin F1 track but my instructor/owner passanger didn't want to do a drive by.
You almost have to judge your speed by what gear you're in and rpm/sound. Not very much engine sounds in car until you get to 4000 rpm and above and then everything changes and the car starts to scream. Very light feel to the steering and you could really tell it was a mid engine car. Excellent road feed back to the driver in every way. Like flying in a Lear jet compared to a Cessna. It has a great paddle shifter setup that was set for sport mode; the up shifts were very fast and hard. Downshifts you could do yourself or just let it do it for you.
We blew off a really nice Corvette who must of been slowing down just to get a look. Such a great feeling.
Working on a video edit that was made from a high def GoPro camera in the car. Made a bunch of stupid comments that got recorded!

Here's some video from the test drive. Not that exiciting, just some basic driving around. Hit a 100 on the freeway.

Re: F430 Test drive
Fantastic stuff man
I hate to say it, but I live in an area with a lot of these (and other older Ferraris) around. About 30 miles away there's a Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati and Bentley garage and often I'd see 430 Scudi's around there.
My girlfriend's friend has a 458 Italia which he crashed into a Range Rover on a roundabout and it might get written off (they're not strong... it was a mere bump and the engine was damaged). Also, it wasn't his fault. He also has a modified '05 Mustang GT and a classic convertible Shelby of some kind.
In fact, I'm somewhat jealous that you saw a Corvette They're incredibly rare here. A lot of people say "Oh wow a Elise/Porsche/Gallado" but they're annoyingly common, so I'd rather appreciate a Mclaren or something like that.
Anyway, great video man. Who's was it? Why were you driving it?

Re: F430 Test drive
Nice!! I had an '09 STi before money got tight on me, and had to give her up. came with the short shifter, auto-dimming mirror, and i had a Magnaflow CBE installed. i miss her, but im trying to make the '05 Legacy i have now unique. working on getting a set of '04 BBS's mounted (get them powdercoated gold then need to get rubber), then look into JDM tails, and suspension stuffs
