I'm afraid I'll be backpacking across Europe for the first three rounds, but I'll hopefully be back in time for Sears Point.

For those still curious as to the Qually method for Round 1 after the release here and hearing it on the podcast, I am trying to go the same route as NASCAR does with the 'Daytona Speed Weeks'.

Meaning, on the 14th July, it will be the standard 4-lap qually session (2-flying laps), followed by 2-25 lap shootouts to set the starting grid. Those who have a qually time that lands 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc, will race in the first 'shootout race' to set the 'left side' of the grid. The 2nd shootout race will set the right side of the grid for those who qualifyied a time in 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc. Also, following in line with NSACAR, the top 2 fastest qualifiers are locked into the front fow. I hope that clears up any questions

Sounds good! Man, two 250 milers, should be very interesting! I'll be following the Sunset 250 with much interest.

Will there be a Chase type playoff for the title?

Benchmark Oval should be good too.. We should run them unrestricted..

Will post the full rules in the coming days. And as Bruno mentioned, in the latest podcast I mentioned registration will open during the 24hr LeMans race in mid June.

@nicky, I probably won't do a 'Chase' format as the series is only 10 rounds long. If the series was as long as the nascar schedule (36 races), then I would consider a 'Chase' format

By NASCAR standards, think of the whole series as The Chase, with everyone reset to equal points
