In all honesty, I thought this was me until recently. I now know I can race, but just can't break into the low times. I assume that's down to lines and knowing where my nose needs to be in corners and the difference of where I, in comparison to the really fast guys, get on the power early.
Plus I still can't bring myself to turn TC off.
I don't suppose anyone has the Lobby A replays on their storefront do they?

CQR Jono wrote:The annoying thing for me is that the guy/sthat is causing the regular issues at the front of the field has absolutely no need to be so aggressive. He has undoubted pace and as such should have no trouble getting a decent finish in Race 2 without smashing in to people left, right and centre.
You only need look at the result for CQR VtecTorquE in Race 2 to prove that it's possible - he drove fantastically from last place on the grid to finish 3rd and only a few hundred feet from the winner............he finished with absolutely no damage
Some people have pace and racecraft - others are hot-lappers who think they can race
I also finished that 2nd race with no damage, no idea how though, and I finished mid-pack.
Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
Yea no idea why the A lobbie guys are have so may issues. I stared dead last in C lobbie race 2 and came 2nd again with no damage and I have to say that was the best, closest al cleanest race I have even been. The replay is stunning!

Are these TORA wide, or GT specific?

I have to be slightly careful as I'm still fairly new around here, but as far as I've seen in my 2 recent races in A Lobby of the GT's the majority of the issues have been caused by one individuals impatience and complete disregard for fellow racers.
I suppose it's probably human nature that, if you're challenging for a championship win and real-life prizes, you may become a little more aggressive and think more selfishly - however I can't defend some of the driving that's been witnessed recently. As someone eluded to previously the drivers in A Lobby should, in theory, be the higher skilled guys - that's not really showing in certain cases at the moment and it's a shame.
In general though the racing over the past couple of weeks in A Lobby has been fantastic with some awesome, extremely close racing - CQR MAGiC & CQR VtecTorquE's race long battle at Nurburgring GP being a particular highlight. In fact that's the first time I've sat down and watched an entire replay without getting bored
Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
Completely agree Jono - the standard of driving in the A lobby has been exceptionally high all season - just a few incidents recently with drivers trying too hard and being overly aggressive has caused damage and incidents that could have been avoided. The cars and drivers are so closely matched that just stepping over the line a fraction has big consequences. I was concerned about the starts at Infineon, very narrow and walls either side and a tricky left-left-right sequence, but was really impressed with just about everyone's behaviour at the start of both races, great to see respect between the drivers.
Oh and glad you enjoyed watching race 1 at the Nurburgring Jono - is it narcissistic of me to say I've watched the entire race 3 times now (I'm gonna make a video... )

CQR MAGiC wrote:is it narcissistic of me to say I've watched the entire race 3 times now (I'm gonna make a video... )
Not at all - maybe once you've finished the video you could forward it to certain individuals and title it "How To Race On-Line Cleanly And With Respect For Others"
Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
It might be the Infineon track, but I watched our race 2 a few times back because the racing was so close and fast, and the replay angles look so good.
Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
Yeah - I always like Infineon for videos, the camera angles and altitude changes lends itself to some excellent replays.
Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
For rules 3 & 4, what is to happen if there is no lobby for the person to drop down to?SelectiveRogue wrote:RULE UPDATE

Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
If we ban from TORA should that not be up to the Staff.
So miby change number 9 to hearing with staff or something?
Almost like a court case?

Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
I've only been able to make the first race, but from that race I gathered that most people in that lobby had good race craft. I did get punted off in the first turn by someone, but making my way back through the field I made a few passes and was raced clean by everyone. Just my 2 cents. I qualified in lobby 1 that day.

Re: TORA GT S9 - General Discussion
Just to clarify that if our team was to swap cars, we would be recieving points penalties? Looking at the rulebook, I think it's 10% points. Is this correct?
