Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
Anybody wanting to test just hit me up on xbox. I'm excited to get out there and practice, and get with a team soon.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
What times will races begin? I won't be able to stay up past about 10 (central U.S time) sunday through thursday. I don't get home until after 4 during the week, due to school. Any time during the weekend is good. I don't know if you could tweak the times at all. I really want to run this series.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
Oh excellent.
Once again, I'll be in this, however it will be occasional as I'm always doing something on Tuesday night.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
We decided to go to two races for this for two reasons.
Firstly, the format we had in previous seasons worked quite well with the entries we were getting, but with the recent influx of members, it would have been more time-consuming to run an evening with qualifying and three races with the possible connection issues that crop up. To streamline things, we decided to drop a race per meeting, but run more meetings through the year.
Secondly, the WTCC format is two races, so we have a real-world parallel with that.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
Quick question about the Hybrid cars are the electric motors allowed to be upgraded or do they have to stay stock?
Cant see anything in rules and wanted to get it cleared up the now.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
Feel free to upgrade them, there's no issues there.
In fact, if anyone can fit such a thing as an engine swap. they may do so. As long as the car remains an FWD turbocharged unit, with the mandatory parts listed in the rules, then it will be regarded as legal.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
There are other great series to get involved with here @ TORA corndog821, that do not clash with the work/school week for us guys in the U.S. As much as I would love to run in the TCC, I do not because I do not get out of work til 5:30pm EST which is 10:30pm GMT/BST (tried once last season, but connection issues I had due to hurricane irene kept me from running[I never lost power, but a lot of CT did]) So I regulate myself to weekend TORA meetings (ISCC, GT, TASCAR...) unless I have a rare day off.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
We have been considering running a TCC series at a later start time for US timezones, but our original attempt to do so in 2011 didn't get much of an uptake. With the recent influx of new members, it might be worth looking at it again if we can get enough people interested in running in it, and also reliable hosts to run it.
In the meantime there may be a community WTCC-style series running that might suit.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
Just a reminder for everyone planning on participating in this year's TCC, particularly those new to TORA.
When the car sign-ups are opened, you may apply with two choices of car. These applications will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Only 2 teams are allowed to run a single model of car, ie two teams may run the Renault Megane.
Where a model has used it's two team allocation, your second choice will be granted. In the unlikely event that these too have been allocated, you will be informed and required to make new choices.
There are some models which are likely to be very popular, for instance, the Honda Civic Type-R 2007. I would advise that before you apply, you try as many cars from the list as possible, as you may find that the car you want is already assigned, and you haven't thought through your second choice fully.
I would also point out that, as stated on the Car List, TORA reserves the right to restrict cars where we feel that there is a performance imbalance. This may take the form of either PI penalties, or handicaps to Power and/or Grip. The Honda Civic '07 was restricted in this way last season, and while we are leaving it unpenalised at this time, we may review that during the course of the season.
Finally, during the course of the season, you may find that you wish to change the car your team is running. This will come at the cost of points, and in most cases you may be restricted to your second choice of car that you applied for in your original application. Note that submitting a new application mid-season then requesting a car change isn't allowed - we will use your ORIGINAL application.
So make those car choices wisely. The list is broad, there are a lot of good cars on it, so test them out. I've put some in the TORA garage that use the base testing build and tune that I built the list from, so feel free to try them out.

Re: TORA TCC - General Discussion
We haven't used the front splitter in our TCC series for about three seasons now.
