Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Just out of curiosity, can I run in two different cars as long as my stints don't overlap?

No, I would rather you didn't race for multiple teams. The idea is it is supposed to be your team of drivers against all others, not a couple of drivers switching into various teams. It's an endurance event of how well you and your team can do.
Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
I don't think so, no. I seem to remember Richy saying no from somewhere.
I'm going to say no

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
Balls. My thought was that I would run an "A" car and a "B" car under the same overall banner, but with two driver lineups.
So for car "A" you'd have drivers 1, 2, 3, and 4; For car "B" you'd have 1, 5, 6, and 7. Every once in a while you'll see a team do this with their "ace driver" for a long endurance race (Christophe Bouchut comes to mind).
I was hoping that I could be that "ace driver"

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
I understand, and for the 24 hours it would help out a lot of teams, but I can't imagine McNish jumping into a GT car to help them out.
I am however considering opening up the teams to 5 drivers for Le Mans.

1. If it was an AudiSport Team Joest R8 LMS, he probably would!
2. I wasn't saying anything quite that severe, I was thinking more GT entry 1 and GT entry 2.
But I can see why you wouldn't want to do it. It would cause a little confusion and fewer drivers entering (theoretically).
As far as opening up to 5? Hell, I was considering running 3 and 3 and get more driving time

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
If we're doing 2 hr stints, 4 drivers have to run 3 stints each. A 5th driver can ease things a little bit perhaps. But going by last year where we only needed 4 drivers, but each stint was 3hrs long, they only have 2 stints

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
The thing is, I would rather it didn't happen but after Sebring and the lessons learnt from timings and substitutes there could always be the call for an emergency last minute substitute in a squad.
Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
so, could we do 4 confirmed, and the 5th as a substitute if nessesary?

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
I remember drivers switching cars during a race in a 12 or 24 hour race in real life im sure. It was something to do with the lead car had broken down so they moved 2 'top' drivers over to another car.

I would really like to try this, is there a minimum amount of drivers needed?

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
also in sebring 12, i can't remember the name but a team fielded two cars however one was a P2 or some sort and the other was a GT and at some point one of the drivers that was in the "P2" car drove the teams GT car for a few hours before running the last leg at sebring.... my question not switching teams but a team fielding two cars for two different classes, driver line-up of 6 to 8, and only one or two drivers that can swap like hailfire said, "Ace in the hole"

I love this. The build up, all the new members joining & forming teams. The stunning cars revealed in the media thread & Simon's amazing clips to get you in the mood. It's brilliant! The way I see it, this is the pinnacle of online motor racing. Great teams & drivers flock from around Forza to compete here & the best of the best prove they have what it takes to win. Your team wins this & you can be considered one of the best teams on Forza 4.

I may not be one of the best, But I'm willing to give it everything, and leave it all on the track.

@ GSW outlaw: I believe there is no minimum. If you cannot find a team you should still be able to enter by yourself and run as many stints as you can.
@ WCM Outlaw: from what I can remember; a WEC driver can only be registered for one car for an event. However, an ALMS driver can be registered for 2 cars in a single event, but, they must meet the required driver "rest" periods for the event, they must not exceed the maximum stint time per event, and they must choose which car they will recieve points for before the practice session starts. In both series, a driver cannot a car they are not previously registered for, and, reserve drivers cannot be used.

ahh that makes sense, now lets say i would like to run a P1 car for the win qith certain drivers and a GT/GT3 car for points with another group of drivers? both cars are part of the same team cuz i know richy we can't be on different teams

Re: TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - General Discussion
There are no championship points on offer so it wouldn't matter.
Point is, we're not allowing you to drive in 2 different cars because that'd just be too damn confusing when we need to change stints. I tried this during Sebring and it was denied.

haha well it was worth a shot, but makes sense why it wouldn't matter/work anyway. now my next question if i team up with some guys to drive a P1 car, can i field my own team for a GT class( to get my team out there i.e. advertisement for more drivers and such) but me not drive, i have four/5 new guys drving to for me, for them get there name out there as well? essentially i'm trying to run a car with new but good drivers wanting to make a name for themselves whether its with my team or for there own personal gain
