TCS or no TCS?
Hi guys,
My team mate and I currently run with TCS on in this series but I've seen people mention that it's better to run these specific cars without it.
I'd be interested in the general concensus on this and if it really is that important in these builds.
What are your thoughts?

Re: TCS or no TCS?
I'm with Andy on this one. Sometimes you want a little bit of slide, or at least have the power available during such moments. I find that somewhere where I'd be feathering the throttle with the car on the edge of adhesion, with TCS on, the system would just panic, cut in and rob you of the engine's full power.
Re: TCS or no TCS?
No TSC for me wish the championship didn't run it as the cars don't need it.

Re: TCS or no TCS?
Ha, pretty comprehensive responses!
Ok, another question, what about Sim handling. We both have that on. TCS is the only assist we use. Will you be quicker with Sim handling, or without it. And does the answer to that question change if you are using a pad or a wheel?

Re: TCS or no TCS?
I use a pad and run TCS off - SIM steering - ABS off - LINE off

Re: TCS or no TCS?
I think it comes down to preference, but I believe without TCS in any car is faster.

Re: TCS or no TCS?
No TCS for me, personally i struggle to use TCS with my aggressive driving style i love throwing a car around and it's difficult to do that with TCS cutting in. I use normal steering as well sim is too difficult on the pad with the ridiculous tank slappers that you get haha!

Re: TCS or no TCS?
No TCS, no need for it. I will use it if I'm chasing a time on the LB's in the higher classes but not in race situations.
I'm still not quite smooth enough to use sim steering with these cars and I do still use the braking line, not sure if that's a crutch I'll ever be able to let go of.

Re: TCS or no TCS?
I use TCS for all R Class cars, but have found with certain cars, especially that Viper you are using, that its not as necessary as it once was for me. I've found that TCS helps me get off the starting line and out of hairpins w/o victimizing anyone, but that is about it.
Other than that, I can't believe anyone would need braking line in races. Maybe when practicing a car/track combo for the first time... but to use the most unrealistic assist all the time? C'mon folks, learn the track.

Re: TCS or no TCS?
Using a controller I have trouble feather the throttle and brake, so I had to stop using ABS for this series, which isn't a big deal. I had also started using a clutch but I found that I couldn't do that and feather the brake at the same time. Right now I run with TCS because I find that without it, I lose traction.

Hee hee I knew that was gonna annoy someone! Not that it makes any difference but I don't use it as a brake marker especially not in a race situation as you'll end up punting someone off the track trying to find it. On corners I struggle to find the apex is the reason I use it and I guess I've gotten so comfortable with it being there I can't let it go even though my pals S2M Ranger and S2M Coblet both tell me I should.

Change your controller layout so that the clutch is the A button.

LOL, aren't you the one who punted me off in the braking zone of turn 2 in race two last night?

Nope, might want to check your replay bud, because I can assure you it wasn't me! There's more than a few people that would vouch for me in saying that's not the way I do business! I'll be happy to send you the replay if you don't have it.
