+100, if they had any control over it, they would've stopped the issues before they even occurred!CQR MAGiC wrote:Also, I don't agree that it reflects badly on TORA - other organised racing series that was racing last night had to abandon, including the VTCC and Virtual Motorsports championships.
Hope not too many more people leave, it's micros' fault, not you guys, itll be a shame if too many more people leave
Re: MSA TORA GT Meeting 1 (Take 2) - Silverstone International - Sunday 15th July @ 8pm BST
Last week there were live problems on Sunday and Monday.
If it stays that way, why not change the day from Sunday to Wednesday or Thursday ?( I dont know if there are other series running these days....)
I disagree that silverstone should be deleted. Everybody can discard 2 results.
Tora guys you are great!
And if there will be some( or a lot) guys and girls quit, you should only look how many members you have gained the last months.
It sounds may be a bit harsh, but that's how I am.
Sorry if my english writing isn't all that.....
luv you, Adder

There were problems most days last week to be honest:
Monday was very bad between 8pm and 9.30pm
Tuesday was OK last week (and the TCC went ahead with no issues).
Wednesday lobbies started falling apart around 8.15pm
Thursday seemed OK
Friday had issues later on, from around 10pm to 11pm

It's a great shame that these problems have resurfaced for the second week running, I really feel for everyone involved in managing this series as it is clear to me that there has been a tremendous effort made to produce what will be a scintillating championship.
I can only hope that all competitors remain objective and ensure that they don't misappropriate the blame for these issues.

i didn't have hopes for running well at silverstone, but it is disheartening after hanging in lobbies for 2 hours and probably having run 100 practice laps getting used to the car - for those who couldn't qualify it's a double hit
understand the 2nd drop score will help, but i'll already be using one for hockenheim due to holiday... better be on it for the rest of the season!

Cheers Magic,
Staff have been working behind the scenes extremely hard to contact xbox live support you should see the number of tweets we have raised as this is a XBOX LIVE ISSUE NOT A TORA ISSUE
This has no reflection on TORA, those that think it does need to read up on network issues and xbox live and come have chat we me on live
That's just it, Its not your fault, its not anyones connections fault. It is an unfortunate fault that is out of our hands!!
The VTCC also got struck hard last night but it was strange, 2 of the 4 lobbies managed to slip through all the way from 7.30 to 10PM! But lobby 1 and 2 imploded after race 1.
All you can do is explain to everyone what happend with XBL and point them in the direction of the "Report a problem " thread on FM.net and they can see for themselves its world wide!!
I hope they sort this soon, being in Limbo sucks!
Its almost like it can't cope with the capacity anymore. Sunday night is by far the worst its been, but its also the busyest!
Re: MSA TORA GT Meeting 1 (Take 2) - Silverstone International - Sunday 15th July @ 8pm BST
Because then most of the people in North America will not be able to make any of the races!adder20 wrote:...

The TCC runs on tuesday nights at 8pm BST (or about then), and, even though I would like to run in that series, I cannot because I am still at work.
The TORA staff have been doing a great job with running this series and every other series.
As CQR Magic said, "onwards and upwards!"

Yeah cheers for sticking around Andy, as well as the other three who were in 'Lobby J'.
My take on the 'scrap the results of the lobbies who raced' issue, is that at the end of the day we have to make it fair for everyone. It has been an absolute nightmare for everyone - TORA staff, competitors, families (probably getting cheesed off at their other halves tearing away from the busy family life for an hour only to see that they're staring at lobbies the whole time). We're all in the same boat here.
For the guys who have raced already I believe that their points should stand. Yes, somehow they managed to get things rolling ok but each successful lobby was independent and in no way affected another lobby directly. The real problem is what do we do for the other guys in the other lobbies? We've tried two weeks in a row now and no racing has happened for these guys. If time wasn't a problem then the races should be re-run for another week, to ensure those lobbies had a fair chance. However, the ISCC is next week and we don't know if the connection issues will happen again, so that's another championship delayed.
Also how can we justify giving points out for the luck of a single flying lap in the lobby? Yes there may only be a variation of 10/12 points but it all counts. Last GT season we had issues in Catalunya Lobby A on the second race thus Race 1 results were given out again. Fairer than this, I'd say.
My view is that if we're going to have problems with connection ANYWAY, that's going to affect the ISCC so we may as well push back everything and get the other lobbies who haven't already raced. The only problem is the guys who have raced already will have to wait another week and the schedule will be slightly skewed.
TORA staff have taken the decision to put an additional cancellation of the second lowest race weekend - which is probably the safe option. Hey, it's their championship. They can do what they like
Re: MSA TORA GT Meeting 1 (Take 2) - Silverstone International - Sunday 15th July @ 8pm BST
Sorry Bli33ard,
the first ISCC America race at Sebring is in two weeks time on the July 29th,
the next GT round at Hockenheim is next weekend.

Umm, more then half the grid raced that first day. I think out of what 10-11 lobbies 3 had problems with getting a few people in?
Honestly, I think people worry about thier position in the championship to much. I race for fun, championships are nice, but the other day at silverstone I had some of the most fun action filled racing I've had in forza for a while. Yeah I got bumped off from my starting position both times, but making up ground making passes really made the racing great. Also, the guys in the lobby I was in where top notch. Hard clean racing.

Did you have a bad quali at Silverstone by any chance and that's why you're pushing to scrap the Silverstone event??

Re: MSA TORA GT Meeting 1 (Take 2) - Silverstone International - Sunday 15th July @ 8pm BST
I put in the rules the dropped round etc etc.
With Silverstone, some people got good results, and TORA TV shows that there was awesome racing. For others they didn't race at all. To keep results would upset some people, and to scrap the results would upset others. IT is the simple reason of this that I changes the single dropped rounds, to two dropped rounds, and depending on how things are leading up to Hockenheim, more decisions might be made.

You will never please all of the people.
I think this is a good compromise and hope people will realise and accept this decision with good grace. Thanks for all of your hard work on this.

Nope thats the pace I had, I just would rather it was started all again with everyone racing not just a few.

Only Microsoft could give us something as truly awesome as forza then balls things up so we can't actually play it. Its like being a kid and your mum takes you to a bike shop just before Xmas then you unwrap yet another box of Lego.
My qualifying time at Silverstone was about 1.5 seconds off my best but hey ho, thems the breaks. I think the decisions that have been made are the right ones and hopefully things will be sorted by the weekend so we can get on with some serious racing
Now I just need to persuade my other half that my life doesn't just revolve around 'that stupid game' and bide my time till my boy is old enough to hold a controller so we can join forces and take over the TV for good

DEHI didn't run, and J was added for people who couldn't connect to qualifying from the week before.
ABCFG all ran.
