Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
Cheers guys I was using a vw scirocco and could only get a 2.15 the other cars I got within the rules were slower and didn't feel as stable but that can be solved with tuning. Will have another crack later and see if I can find any more time. I think I may just need to run laps as I have only just started using a fanatec and have been playing around with the settings and getting used to having a sprung loaded brake cell
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
1:56.001 in the #33 Jag... Still need some tuning and work to be done I'm not expecting to be as fast as others in TGT but itll be a great learning experience seeing this is my first major TORA event.

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
I'm finding the opposite actually. All the cars I've driven in clubman that have gone under 2:10.xxx had at least a 5.6 handling rating and a 5.0 speed rating. I hit just about 130mph on the hangar straight. The one car I drove that hit 140mph had a lap time of 2:12.xxx so you need a good handling car for this track. Based on my findings so far I suggest this is a full downforce track despite having a few long straights. For all the cars in all the classesBG Beanz wrote:wood53y wrote:Wow I have a lot of work to do I am about 5 seconds off in clubman class that is not good. Admittidly this is my first time trying to get a TORA spec car so I may have completely the wrong upgrade path and tune to allow me to be competitive or maybe I have a hec of a lot to learn.
Quick tip, for Silverstone you'll need something with good straight line speed to do well in the Clubman class i reckon.

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
Getting quicker ducked into the 2:14's tonight for the first time, I dont think I have followed the best upgrade plan though as still only getting 120-123mph down hanger straight

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
Are all the teams that have entered clubman class running laps in the 2:09 region?

With a very crude tune on it I got the E92 M3 you will be running with hailfire and Bruno down to 58.8's. I'm certain the car can go q bit faster and I'm not the fastest person in here.
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
1:59.953
Production GT
Aston Martin Vantage
Could knock a little more time off. 1:58's are a long shot.

Yeah i have driven that car with the tune on it and i can only get 58:8, at push as well........i will make my own tune to see if thats any quicker but i just dont think the BMW is the quickest........that Aston is a class leader and i think will be the car to beat, even with the power handicap !!

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
Then it should have an extra 5% power restriction. Cars shouldn't be that much faster compared to te field in a TORA event.

shouldn't you have more people test the car and the build in question before handicapping the car? I mean at Le Mans the car that got heavily penalized in HP also took out teams that were running the same car that WERE NOT AS FAST. I am against the quick use of penalties, if a bunch of skilled drivers are fast in the car it is a good chance that the car isn't the problem it's the skill of the driver and the driver/tuner that tuned the car.
don't penalize until there is more evidence that the car is over powered.
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Lap times
My team was one of the ones that got screwed by that. Hence, I want heads a'rolling.
