Hey dude,

Make sure you have a very low down-force set up on the Mclaren its a very nice car to drive but its a grip car like all the GT cars low down force is needed.

Not necessarily, the Viper seems to do better with quite a bit of downforce on from what our other BG team have told me.

True True, I can match my ford times or go faster in the Mclaren around tracks like Nur GP etc etc, with a lowdown-force increasing it so that you dont lose to much time with the faster cars in a straight line etc etc

I've not really done any testing yet Andy but my Lambo was throwing out 2:00's with the Road America tune. If I come up with anything good I'll chuck it over, but I won't have much time to test this week, I'm at Silverstone Saturday and racing motocross Sunday.

Feel the same way, even tested the tune of crunk ( way too much oversteer for me).
I have tested full down force, medium downforce, low downforce, stiff suspension, soft suspension......and mostly I drive 2.00 low with all tunes and rarely 1.59 high.

Did my first 12 laps last night, managed a very twitchy 2:00:6 in the 458, think I'm in for difficult night on Sunday!
Read a 1:57 done in the 458, that's serious alien pace compared to me, any tips chaps to make me competitive?

Capture an alien from somewhere and make it your bitch. No seriously, get a setup you don't make many mistakes in and do loads of laps till the track feels automatic and the time will fall. not much difference between these GT cars their have been very well matched (good job tora testers) only gain roughly a second from base tune to ace tune. lot's of laps is the answer to 1.57s, or changing your technique if you doing something wrong, watch replays.

Although this isn't true for every situation, something that I've come to realise recently is that if the car feels comfortable to drive, it generally won't be as fast. The tune I have is a little twitchy for me and it feels like I'm on the edge constantly, but it is nonetheless necessary to achieve a really quick laptime. What I'm saying is that you need to push the limits of what you think you can do. If you can adjust to cope with the oversteer, the reward should be evident.

+1 Cobblepop, a twitchy, edgy car is where the time is, and using the tyres correctly. Also, at Nurb GP is very easy to lose time in the long slow corners (e.g. turn 3) - you're in those corners for so long that proportionally, there's more time to gain there.

I agree with everything you an cobblepop say. Although a driver new to these cars needs to know his limits and drive something manageable. Don't make the mistake I made in the last race and go for a fast tune that was beyond my limits at this moment in time.
