Round 6 @ Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Saturday, August 25th, 2012
Qualifying Starts @ 3pm EDT / 8pm BST
Race Day Starts @ 4pm EDT / 9pm BST
Race Day Starts @ 4pm EDT / 9pm BST
Qualifying Procedure:
- Qualifying Starts @ 3pm EDT/8pm BST. Make sure to be online 1/2 hour before, as Qualifying Lobby will open @ 2:30pm EDT/7:30pm BST.
- Standard 4 lap lobby settings. Once the Lobby countdown finishes, we will all go backwards on the track into pit road, so that when the AI releases our cars, we will be on the 'pit exit' tarmac. One Driver will Qualify at a time. Once on Lap 4, please pull off and park near the Indy GP's Turn 1, so lap times can be taken once all drivers are finished. You get 2 Flying laps, Clean laps take presidence over Dirty laps.
- Damage will be *Cosmetic*, Collisions set to OFF.
Race Day Format:
- Race Starts @ 4pm EDT/9pm BST, barring connections issues.
- Race Length is 100 Laps, split into 2-50 lap 'segments'. (thanks Turn10 )
- ONE Mandatory Pit Stop per 'segment'
- Damage will be set to *Cosmetic*
(Note*)= Damage will be set to Cosmetic for Indianapolis, due to the fact of the "Velcro-Grass" to the insides of each corner, and the fear of people nabbing said grass and possibly resulting in carnage. Meanwhile, being Cosmetic damage is set, I DO NOT want to see a repeat of Benchmark Oval, in terms of the number of Safety Cars/Cautions. Treat this race as if Damage is ON.

TUNING RESTRICTIONS ARE FOUND IN THE RULES & REGULATIONS HERE
Caution/Safety Car Speed: 80mph
- Safety Car/Caution
In The case of a Safety Car is called, DO NOT brake to get down to Safety Car speed. this could cause chaos. Let off the throttle and let the car slow down on its own. During the Safety Car period, Everyone forms up Single-File until everyone has caught up, then the field should reform into 2-by-2 formation for the restart.
- During Safety Car
While under the Safety Car, drivers may pit and use their 'Mandatory' pit for that session/stint. Anyone who may be a lap down can get a lap back (but not those involved in bringing out the Safety Car).
---A Safety Car can be called up to the penultimate lap of the Race, and thusly the final lap will end under caution, and go into "Green-White-Checkered" rules once all competitors are back to the main lobby. If there are not enough laps to have a "Green-White-Checkered" under the Scheduled distance, the final laps can be run at a faster pace to complete the laps, BUT NO PASSING IS ALLOWED!!!

Ill be home as quick as i can tonight Mark think it'll be a great race. 1 question are we using the pit line entry after turn 4 and exiting between turns 1&2?

Yes Chaddy. for Qually, we will be going backwards on track to utilize the pit-exit tarmac. And seeing there is SOOOOOOO much Sticky-pavement where there shouldn't be, merging back onto the racing surface will be in between turns 1 & 2. If Everyone Can Call Out They Are Returning Onto The Track, To Help Avoid Any Problems, Please. And yes, the pit entry ater turn 4. idk why Turn10 added the sticky-pavement on this track (unless that was to prevent corner cutters)

Sorry for quitting out, but to be totally honest, that was the least amount of fun I have ever had in Forza. I really did not think it was possible to make Indy suck worse than the real Indy already does, but sticky grass somehow did. I had zero fun tuning for this track, testing this track, and even less racing on it.
On a somewhat unrelated note about the tuning: I would have preferred ONLY the gearing and aero over everything BUT gearing and aero. I think it would have taken seconds off the gap between fast and last.
