2012 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Oh, it's that time of year again, stock up on Fosters, have an all nighter, and watch one of the best races in the world. BATHURST! I usually use Propaganda's Jewelled for this thread every year, but the piece Network 10 used was just as good. So here we are!


It's the last Bathurst of the Ford/Holden-eternal-battle era, with the return of Nissan to the mountain in 2013, so for one last Bathurst, are you blue, or are you red?

So, the runners and riders then? Shall we?

Sooooo keen for this!!! Cleaned out my garage, got some old lounges in there, pool table, beer, soft drink for the younger ones, massive TV, 3kg of lamb and mince, start cooking Friday and having a huge lunch with some mates, couldn't go this year because we didn't have the money, but I'll be there next year!!!!

Must visit Australia at some point for this... I love the idea of a Bathurst lunch/party.

1 car still to be added to that list. I Can see the 888 car being very strong but FPR have a great setup and I like the look of the 18 car it should be strong too.

I've never been unfortunately :/ but I've heard it's great fun 6.2 km of camp sites and beer haha, but I'm going to the gold coast 600 in 3 weeks, should be great fun 3 days racing, 2 nights of live concerts, can't wait

We don't all speak like that, only the Vic's and the country boys, and that sounds like someone from the deep south speaking (no offense to anyone who lives there)

Last year us in the US got to watch Bathurst live on TV via SPEEDTV, but evidently those bastardo cheapos are doing the tape delayed two hour highlight version.

@ Murphy. Almost sad to see how far he has fallen through the grid the past couple years. But at least he is quicker than Villeneuve was, who had taken "sucks" to a whole new level.

yea, you know how on XPLR we were talking about the old race driver games? i ended up taking my old xbox up to my room and played V8SC2 on it at bathurst, i sucked because the physics are so bad, but in qualifying i managed a 1:57!!!!!!!! first was a '55, i was like, that's not even possible.
i hope they bring out a 4th, if they do, it'll be epic haha

I love Murph. He always goes ballistic towards the end of a Bathurst.

And, Kiwi's and Scot's both share an equal rivalry with their bigger neighbours.. (no reference to the Aussie soap was intended there). I get the Kiwi mentality!

Murph used to be a badass... but the past two years he has been noticably off pace. Same with the Kelly Bros, hmm are they out of the same shop? That would explain a lot.

i think so, i like todd kelly he's ok, but rich is a tw*t, lowneds would have won the championship (i think) 2-3 years ago, but in the final race of the year, rich spun lowneds out and he got placed right at the back and didn't get back up the grid
