IROC 79 Series - Rules, Schedule and Registration

Welcome to the 2012 IROC 79 Series. This series is based on the golden age of the International Race of Champions circa 1979, back when you would see F1, Indy Car, NASCAR and LeMans' stars all in spec built 1979 Camaro Z28s prepared by Roger Penske and Jay Signore. The car is a 630 PI/449 HP monster tamed only with the skill of the driver, as tuning is limited by the amount of "Sport" upgrades, which also helps level the playing field by shrinking the gap between a good tune and a great tune.

Rd 2, Oct 26 2012 : Indianapolis GP - 20 Laps
Rd 3, Nov 09 2012 : Laguna Seca - 20 Laps
Rd 4, Nov 16 2012 : Sunset Superspeedway - 35 Laps

Build & Tuning Rules: 630 PI/449 HP Spec Build

Race : Air Filter, Intake, Carburetor, Ignition, Exhaust, Camshaft, Valves, Pistons, Flywheel, Brakes, Rollcage, Weight Reduction, Differential, Tire Compound
Sport: Springs/Suspension, Antiroll Bars, Clutch, Transmission, Driveline
Street: Engine Displacement
Tire Width: 255 F/265 R
Wheels: Compomotive ML
STOCK AERO

Livery Rules: Must use the kit provided, sent on request. Your XBL Tag goes in the Gamertag Box on both doors, your TORA number on the rear roof pillars. Stock Z28 striping must be retained, but the car can be painted any color of your choosing.

Race Procedure:
Contact: ON, Damage: Limited
All races will have a Rolling Start.
Safety Car will be called if there is an incident involving 2 or more cars. Safety Car speed is 60mph. No pit stops are required.
All TORA Driving and Etiquette Rules will be enforced.

Grid Order: If 16 or less participants, there will be No Qualifying. In Round 1, there are 16 or less, we will use Random Grid Order, and any week thereafter, if 16 or less Grid Order will be Inverted Series Points (Point Leader starts Last) If at any time there are more than 16 entries, there will be standard 5 lap Qualifying (out lap, 3 hot laps, and stop on lap 5) and Multiple Race Lobbies.

Ya know, as nice as my new keyboard is, I am really hating it for being hard to see in low light. I guess I should get one of those bright yellow ones with the really big letters and keys.

Sorry for the confusion, but I meant Fri nights at Midnight. As crazy as that time slot is, it would be even crazier on a reg weeknight.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

There will be an Exhibition Race tomorrow in conjunction with the TASCAR Season Finale. The race will be @ Mugello Club Circuit and will take place following the TASCAR Q Session. Expect a short 8-10 lap event to get familiarized with the IROC 79 Spec cars. Grid will be random. Tunes on my Storefront, as are the stickers, which are optional for this Exhibition. I'd suggest the Speedway gear set.

I will start a thread to sign IN following the Super Random Open Cup this evening.

may I suggest another thing to add to the sign-up? Car Colour! Thusly to avoid showing up with 5 cars with the same colour and tint lol

Notice:

1) Car color choice has been added to the entry. This is to alleviate the duplicate car colors.

2) Due to the late race time in the BST, race lengths have been reduced from 40-45 minutes to approx 30 minutes. Hope this helps get more entrants from the other side of the world.
