Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I knew about the old cars, I raced my Flowtech Z06 at Tskuba trying to chase you down in race 2 before I lagged out.
But I think he was referring to season 9 format of only sprint races, but I wasn't sure. Seeing how I thought this new system is way better.
Only one series to focus on but two different cars to tune lol

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
when is the Sebring sign-up gonna open up?
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I have an observation to discuss:
I am aware that many TORA Staff drive in VAMR cars in GT, and thats fine.
I noticed that the VAMR has been used A LOT in the GT race banners (not banging on Stan, you do awesome work, keep it up).
I also notice that the VAMR team has been getting quite a lot of love on the TORA twitter feed. If it's in the race context its fine.
What I'm saying is; isn't it free advertising? You don't see any motorsport series jump on one team or manufacturer unless its something like Super Trofeo or w.e. It comes off to me as unprofessional.
For the loads of people who are about to hit send on a comment regarding how i'm a sour puss because I manage the only other Manufacturer team linked to the actual team....I run my own series, but yet I don't glamour up the Challenger or Charger in my tweets or posts regarding the series.
In the end I don't tell you guys what to do, but listen to what I say. A lot of people, not only me, think this way too.
Cheers

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
Maybe its because they've won many races and are leading the championships? Kinda makes sense to congratulate the race winners and champions, rather than someone in 25th or 40th place...
CQR gets the same accusations of favouritism and too much exposure, again, being 1-2-3-4-5 in the championship with 3 different teams/cars is the reason for the coverage.
As for VAMR being featured on a LOT of banners... How do you work that one out? I count 1 Aston Martin (Sebring) and 1 shared banner (Aston and my CQR Cayman for Silverstone), so at most 2 banners out of 10 rounds, I wouldn't call that a 'lot', especially for drivers/teams/cars that are leading the championships.
I think you're reading something into nothing to be honest

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
Also, I would like to add, Why shouldn't it be the Aston and the Cayman on the banner?. It's the last race of the season and those are 2 of the 3 cars fighting for the World Championship.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
so what about a shamless plug for the VAMR facebook page? Had nothing to do with the races.
like I said it's fine when you congratulate them, I have nothing against that at all.
@D4NIEL, I suppose you're right.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I think your confused about how Twitter works Soundwave... The shameless Facebook plug was on the VAMR Twitter feed (as it should be), which was then retweeted by TORA, hence why it shows up on the latest Twitter feed (as indeed is your own clubs retweet lol)

B - At Sebring, cos they were winning (and that was just a blank Aston anyway ). And here with the Cayman, because both teams are winning in their classes.
C - I'm not in VAMR and have nothing to do with them, so it's not a shameless plug there on my behalf.
D - TORA has a "thing" with AMR.

I'm aware how it works, I have 3 accounts and it is how I got the SRT deal.
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, I dunno. I understand that they are winning, and congrats to them. I can't help but think it when its all over the website and twitter and forums and facebook. You don't see the same level of media from F1 or WEC or any other series.
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
You will find they dont have same level of media simply because it is run by a seperate organisation but come a race weekend TV always concentrate more on red bull than they do marussia. TORA have a bit of a deal with AMR so they want to show it and I cant blame them lol.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
right, but thats my point. You don't have series with a deal with a manufacturer unless its a one make cup like Super Trofeo.
Sure NASCAR has the Ford Championship Weekend, but Ford pays a stupid amount of money for that and even then NASCAR doesn't lay on the Ford ads.
Because what that says to other competitors is that "oh they are biased towards AMR, they must have done something to the Aston to make it better"
I'm not saying that that is true, it gets the ball rolling in this regard.
Another thing to point out is that there was no AMR-One at Sebring...We know AMR abandoned it and don't want to speak of it ever again. So was that a delibrate thing by TORA, or was it because its not used anymore. If the latter is true, then why were the Lambo, Jag, M3, and Abruzzi at Sebring by the same logic?

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
We left the AMR One out because it would be at Le Mans and we know what happened last year.
I understand the concern Roadrunner, and believe me I'm pretty neutral with this so I'll keep an eye on it. However, don't blame us for being a bit excited about the Aston thing we have going just now.

I'm not saying you should terminate the relationship you have with AMR, cuz that is pretty awesome, just as I have gotten my deal with SRT.
I'm saying that a lot of people are squinty eye'd on the apparent "favouritism" (that's too strong a word, but I can't think of a word that's appropriate)
Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
A lot of people I know have been saying things about the Aston for this series in general.
I have my own reservations for how it has suddenly done so well compared to last season but I can't be arsed voicing them now as it's the last race of the season.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
The Aston is unchanged from where it was during season 9, so any sudden increase in competitiveness is down to the drivers and teams running the cars, so thanks for the compliment Wumba, I'm sure the team will be happy to hear there hard work is appreciated

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
I'd just like to point out the endurance series and specs for each car are a different aspect from last season, but have to say congrats to how well Daniel is doing, no doubt about it that he along with Shifty are very fast drivers and would have done well in whichever car they are in.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
The Aston was slower at the start of season 9 and wasn't chosen by anyone. Halfway through season 9 it was changed but yet no one chose it. ATR Dan tested the car at the end of the season and it looked really good and with the tie in with AMR we chose to run it.

Re: TORA MSA GT World Championship 2013 - General Discussion
The Aston Martin is fast this season because CQR runs it and we all know that they are probably the fastest guys currently on TORA. They probably made the Jaguar look like a really good car last season.
