IDK, he seems like a poor driver imo. Out of all the back markers it was always him who was caught in incidents with race leaders and off track excursions.

Not quite as bad as Yuji Ide...
but that is like saying a coma is not quite as bad as death.

He did okay in Trucks, but I never thought of NASCAR as a stepping stone to F1. More the other way around, as in Nelson Piquet Jr, Jacques Villaneueve and Juan Pablo Montoya.
He's been around for longer than you might think. He raced for Jordan in 2005. I think NASCAR was more of a ''I need cash'' move..

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Force India confirm Adrian Sutil has been in for a seat fitting and could take part in next weeks Barcelona test.
Autosport reported that the 30-year-old, who raced for the Silverstone-based team between 2007 and 2011, had undergone a seat fitting ahead of next week's test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
However, it is not yet 100 per cent clear whether Sutil will drive.
A Force India spokesman confirmed: "Adrian has had a seat-fit with the team this week. At this stage the test driving schedule for the Barcelona test is not finalised, but there is a possibility Adrian could be involved.
"The driving schedule will be communicated on Monday next week."
Force India are the only team yet to confirm their full driver line-up. Paul di Resta debuted the VJM06 at Jerez last week, with reserve driver Jules Bianchi - seen, like Sutil, as a candidate for the second seat alongside di Resta - also getting a run alongside James Rossiter.
I can't understand why they've messed about so much naming their driver line up.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
If it's anyone other than Bianchi it'll be a disaster.
The only ace in Sutil's hand will be (potentially) the money from long term sponsor Medion.

Pirelli announced the tire compunds for Australia will be SuperSofts and Mediums

Ah, the Glassy Gachot.
Sutil was pretty handy last time he had the race seat. It'l probably turn out to be a good move.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
LMAO!!
Pirelli Buys 2011 HRT Car: Pirelli, F1's official tire supplier, has reportedly bought an old HRT car. This week, we reported that assets of the newly-defunct Spanish Formula One team had been snapped up by Teo Martin, a well-known automotive component recycler. According to AS newspaper, Martin apparently bought 2011 and 2012 single seaters as well as other assets. But Reuters reports that another HRT buyer was Pirelli. "The other 2011 (HRT) car has gone to Pirelli," Martin is quoted as saying. Pirelli has not confirmed the report. Currently, Pirelli's F1 test car is a 2010 Renault. Previously, the Italian marque used a 2009 Toyota. Meanwhile, McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh fears other teams are in danger of following HRT out of Formula One, claiming that "of the 11 teams, seven of them are in survival strategy. It's tough," Whitmarsh, referring to the economic situation, is quoted by the BBC. "We have taken some measures but I think it's going to be tough for some of the teams to have a viable business model for a few years; there's no doubt about that."

well, martin whitmarsh...maybe if F1 hadnt lowered its standards a few years ago with the whole "race on a budget" approach...
not to mention having grands prix in places that have zero appeal to sponsors...

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Saw this on WTF1 - what would the Williams look like without the Shark Fin engine cover
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Yeah pretty funky that Richy.
It's a shame Valsecchi doesn't have a seat as he won the bloody GP2 championship last year! Bianchi has got F1 testing experience... but wouldn't mind Sutil coming back. Would prefer Kovalainen/Kobayashi/Glock to be there instead.
DEFFO NOT KARTHIKEYAN PLEASE OH GOD

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I think what that pic proves is just how compact the Williams gearbox and packaging is. The team is reknowned for having probably the most tightly packaged rear end in the pit lane. If only they could hook up the rest of the car!!
Going by the intricate work on the front wing though as one example, I think this year they might just have done enough to impress a bit more regularly.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Well as long as Maldonado can calm it down i think they've got a solid driver line-up. I reckon Bottas is going to be very quick.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Agreed. Bottas has a lot of raw talent and Pastor (can) be good when he's cool. He's thrown away good opportunities before, Australia and Valencia, being the best examples. But we have seen that when in a good position he can control a race and think ahead.
If he can harness that, jobs a goodun!

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Yeah, Williams have had a tight rear end for a few years now, but that's impressive.
For years F1 cars have been cluttered with stupid aero pieces and bodywork, but now the bodywork is receding!

Damn, was really hoping Bianchi would get a chance to shine. Sutil doesn't deserve it.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Ferrari wanted Bianchi in the seat so he could get a season under him incase he replaces Massa in 2014 and there was talk of Force India thinking of changing engines for 2014 and if they took Bianchi they could have got Ferrari engines as Torro Rosso want Renault engines.
Watch the f1 show.

It's a real shame that Force India didn't introduce Bianchi in, though now Razia's seat is up for grabs apparently. You never know Chaddy!
