Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
I really do not like the topic of age, but for me, I am a late bloomer to online racing. I'm about to be 26 and I'm improving little by little. I may be old, but I can still put the pressure on a person if I get behind them.
Ask JamesHall94, he was in a McLaren and had technical issues in Race 2, he eventually caught up and even with the damage I had, I still fought him in the last few laps.

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
19, in charge of teams and clans for the past 5 years, and I'm still here.
But I've grown tired of large-scale operations. Instead of founding (or joining) a clan, I've just decided to put my decently-organized groups of friends against the big guys (Hailfire Racing), instead of organizing a large-effort like I had the chance to as an original XPR guy. I passed that up, and instead I'm keeping it fun.
And without all the practice you guys do (I keep it to under an hour, if possible), I'm still a B/C caliber driver. It's more fun that way.

I'm 32. Here is that ESPN link if you're interested. Also touches on what Mark was saying.

I know this sounds a bit harsh but surely if JP does not communicate via mic, which I assume is needed in race, then is he allowed to participate? As its sort of a natural thing to assume that a mic is needed when racing on TORA.

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
32 this year and I can still post a decent lap time now and again
Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
I see my times getting worse consistently now. I used to put a lot more time into actually playing the game than setting stuff up and dealing with fm.net so that probably has something to do with it.
Believe it or not I saw a decrease in my times from the MS wheel to the Fanatec and never got it back even though I enjoy driving much more now.

22 in a few months and I'm just getting better, in all regards of forza.
I'll look back at tunes I made a year ago and go "WOW I SUCKED".
not to mention I've picked up several seconds per lap since I joined Formula Forza last spring

Richy59 wrote:JP is a special case, normally we wouldn't have 12 year olds on this forum or even involved in this sort of racing - but he's quick and it would be the completely wrong thing to do by keeping such a talent off of forums where competitive racing is encouraged and can also be used to learn the skills required for any real racing in the future.
Worm, I am not at liberty to jump into a personal conversation - one that should not be happening on this public forum - but it looks to me that JP has been offered chances to drive in some the most competitive teams on Forza and he, alongside his father, have made a decision to join a different team than yours. I will not go into personal posts or discussions - as that is not my place - but to me on the face of it, it seems more like sour grapes than anything. I can understand how annoyed you must be and can understand why you have wanted to remove him from the team, especially if you went out of your way to try and get him into the team but ultimately you need to respect the decision that has been made and wish him the best in his virtual racing career.
He is only 12, he has a lot in front of him - like any racing driver trying to sign up to a team - so give him some slack. His father is just trying to do what's best for him so I'm sorry that it has upset you.
In reality, it's such a rare case and probably something that hasn't been seen before. I would maybe take a step back, think about the situation, and give the kid a break.
After reading some posts we can come to the conclusion that he is not a special case due to age, because there are a lot of youngsters here.
The only diffenrence is that JP says nothing and his father is his spokesman( Is that the right word?).
I am not going to say my opinion about that, everybody should know that for himself, but what I am finding suprising is that with a minor sad back he is turning his back to the team he drives for.....
Its still a game, I know, but you are making a commitment with a team to drive for a season, not a race.....
I think that is also a thing with growing up and learning but that is just my opinion.
How about the deduction because I didnt get a real answer or are you guys still discussing about it? If there was an answer I may have overlooked it because of the many posts....sorry for that than.

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
I'm turning 21 in a week. Still a lot younger than you, but I can totally relate to what you are saying. I'm not the quickest over a single lap, but I almost always finish higher than my starting position.CQR MAGiC wrote:You lot making me feel old, I'm 32 lol I think it's true you lose some reaction speed when you get older, I've noticed that in 'twitch' shooters (Halo, COD etc, although I was never that good to start with), but sim racing is different. What you lose in reactions you gain back in knowledge and experience, racecraft, strategy etc. I've been online sim racing on and off for over 15 years, so when it comes to things like super pole, I might not have that last couple of tenths of a 16 year old, but I'm probably more mentally prepared for it. I don't plan on hanging up my helmet for a looooong time yet
I can't even remember my first racing game that I played. One of the first was F1 1995. Very fun.

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
Suzuka's a good track for the Jag, but we pushed the car to the limit last season to get it on the front row and could only get mid-high 2.03's. CQR's Lambo's, along with the Astons and Ferrari's will be in the mid 2.02's, and I expect the Audi's and BMW's will be right up there too. So potentially 5 different cars fighting it out at the front of the field. I'd say the Jag is probably somewhere around the 6th-8th quickest car at Suzuka.

6-8th?!?!
oh well, just have to work harder then..

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
There's 15 cars though, so 6th is still good - and every driver gets on with different cars differently A good qualifying is the key!

I think I started on the xbox when I was 14, now I'm 17 and 18 in a few months. It didn't seem that long ago that I first started signing up and was one of the youngest! How time goes by....

Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
Hmmm well I got with online racing late, I used to only mess about and stuff before I joined tora at the start and gone to only racing, I have never had the time to do lots of laps and only really run when there is a race on I will never get quicker and never get up there with the rest of the fast guys and just not enjoying it anymore, I am only 30 so wouldnt say I am the oldest but is older then alot of the people here. I aint racing any more after this GT season.
Re: TORA MSA GT Sprint Series - General Discussion
