The idea is not to find 'yet another car' that will dominate but that suits you most. And make sure the rest are as quick as one another.
I had assumed that because im not the greatest tuner in the world that someone from a superpower team would be able to match that in another car. I had that car chosen for about 2 weeks now, and spent a lot of time with it. I had already finished a paint on it and everything.
Now because I have exams all this week I won't be getting home until after registration, so I can't go back and test any other cars. I had a backup, but im not sure if that was the best choice.
Needless to say I'm a tad pissed that this wasn't picked up earlier, so now my team is screwed. If a car was that dominate it should have never been on the list. I trust TORA to have everything in order prior to that list being released, meaning all the cars were equal. I thought maybe I hit a sweet spot with the tune and that was why it was much faster.
Your own fault for keeping it quiet and not raisin your findings early on, tad unsporting.

It's hard to offer such a diverse car list and make sure that they are as close to equal as possible, especially when you cannot divulge so much timing into testing. The theory is for drivers to take note of such outliers and draw them into question.

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
Honestly, I didn't raise the concern because if the list was published, I trust that TORA has done adequate testing. And now we know they haven't.
I've posted that the car was this fast weeks ago, I just didn't say what car it was because WE ALL HIDE OUR CHOICES. Everyone knows this.
If it was such a concern a TORA staff member could have shot me off a PM when I posted my finding on the 3 threads I've talked about it.
I can't be the only one to blame here.

I have done testing on all cars, but one person cannot find every loophole there is with limited time. Our main series still remains the sprint series hence more rounds in this transition period.

We have dedicated test teams, but not much feedback recently as many of staff have been very very busy in recent months. The GT4 list is provisional as the carlist states
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
so, if we could potentially have another car on that list that is as fast as the Tesla, maybe faster and we could potentially find out at Sunset?

Got to be with the power handicap not quite being effective enough with the electric and it's dodgy automatic powerband.
Power handicaps seem to not be as effective on hi revving (read: Hondas) and electric vehicles as it is on lower revving engines (read: Viper/Corvette).
That's not a problem with the power handicaps. Look at any leaderboard car in FM3 or FM4 and you will find one thing in common. Those cars all make their power at the upper end of the power band and most cars stay there throughout the lap. It is why the centrifugal supercharger is so valuable. It makes it's power late in the powerband while a Twin Screw or Turbo charger get a jump on the launch to the first 2/3 of the powerband. On rare occasions like the Ford Fiesta a turbo also will increase power like a centrifugal supercharger but this is rare.
Those cars are just naturally better. The Tesla must have some sort of problem with the handicap. It is also not a terrible car, just a pain to drive.
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
Being powered completely differently, the Tesla was a gamble, obviously one that didn't work. I am tempted to postpone the entries for the enduros and do further testing. If there are people wishing to help with fine tuning, I'm more than welcome for helpers.
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
Mopar you always seem to have weeks of exams. How cruel is your school
I haven't tested anything yet. But may go with the TVR Sagaris. As I anticipate it to not be popular.
And why is there no Forza Aero allowed?

The XFR is a joke. Drove it, and it sucks, badly.
Also, scrap the 2 Eleven and the Exige, they are too quick for literally everything. The Boss compared to those two is simply ridiculous.
Simon, I can do some testing, post some times in a spreadsheet.

I drove the 2-11 and it was the slowest car I tested.... by a lot.

yes please! I need some time to find a back up, and because of my exams (yes Kilroy, my school hates me ) I can't get home till after registration starts.
Just a week at most.
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
Really? Maybe I just picked crappy cars to compare it to.

I wouldn't mind helping out. Though I prefer not driving on drag slicks, thus why I posted that sheet about the Sprint Series.

So far all the cars I've tried have hit roughly sane times on sunset aroun the low 1:43 mark, I don't think any more added just tesla gone, also the jag is way to heavy to keep up and havent tried the lotus's, would the jaguar xkr 2008 fit, close to an Aston

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
ya, I did testing for my own series, MMTCC, and the Boss sucks . No matter what I tried, I couldn't the lap times to match even the Challenger SRT8
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
perhaps raise the PI on the Boss to make it competitive? It's a fantastic car, and it deserves a run

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
methinks more testing is in order, Simon, best if the registration gets pushed back methinks
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
argh I hate no editing. If the boss is there, only fair if the camaro and the challenger are there too
Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
Already see people saying the Jaguar XFR is too heavy to be competitive, but it's also too heavy just to be legal. Max weight is 3399 lbs, but the only way to get it there is to not have a roll cage which is mandatory.

Re: TORA MSA GT Endurance Series - General Discussion
You need to eliminate cars, not keep adding to it because car x or y is in. That's how imbalances occur. You'd now have three cars slower than the others instead of one
