IMO, it looks too much like everything else, in some cases.



the headlights look like the Viper, the front grille looks like its from the 458 in a certain fashion, and the rear quarter panels, w/o the fender flares that the C6 had, they look like they came off the GT-R. And the tail lights! why did they go away from the iconic round ones they've always used?! and the front fender vent and rear side window say to me "599"

i agree with all of that, unfortunately, but i think the front looks more like the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta than a 458 because of the jaggered edges, but i agree, it's some ferrari, viper, GT-R cross breed, which for a corvette's looks, as a bit of a bad thing, still think the ZR-1 is one sexy car, so this, no thanks

Agreed, I though it was a Ferrari when I first caught a glimpse of it this morning.

GM has always employed the "im better than you plus 1" approach to the Viper. When the previous gen Viper came out, it had 600hp stock, the next year GM comes out with the 638hp ZR1.

when the new Viper came out, GM took the headlights from it, and saw that the interior was bar none, they had to go and up the interior on the C7.

they quite annoy me, altho the saying goes "impersonation is the sincerest form of flattery"

Unless the new vette price goes up, still top of the line for under 100k... And GM always does this, after a few generations they go for radical changes.

I think the Ferrari look is intentional. Why else is it red instead of Corvette yellow?

The more I look at it, the more I like it. There are some better pics of on it google, including the stingray and a c7 in blue.

Have they released any specs on it? Engine, suspension and such?

I just noticed they copied the position of the "oh, JESUS" bar from the Viper too.

If they did that they would have took the C4 cop-out of copying the styling from the Camaro...

Too bad they didn't do a Mid-Engine Rotary like they were thinking of in the Mid-80s, even as a different badge. That would have actually been an interesting bloodline to look at today.

They should have copied their retro styling theme and did a C3 Corvette. Round and wedgey.

Pretty sure no matter what car you make people will find something you've copied.

0-60 in less than 4s. Second off the current gen. Interior looks a lot better, no more plastic dash haha sticker mpg 16/26 but can get 30( v8 drops 4 cylinders at HW speeds)

ya, but the Viper doesn't really have a "base car" persay, it's equivalent of the ZR1. If SRT wanted to directly compete with the entire range of the 'vette lineup, they'd make a Hemi version, and call it something else.

Yes, the Chrysler-Fiat partnership is dripping with obviousness there, no questioning that.

There is no GM-Fiat partnership. The Corvette's styling cues from half of the Ferrari lineup is almost trademark-encroachment. America needs another American supercar. There hasn't been one since the Gen1 Viper / C4 Corvette -- even though I hated the C4 Corvette.

That is a very good looking car. Other than it being red I don't see anything that screams Viper. If I see another car it is a Camaro. I don't like going away from circle tail lights but these do look good.

I don't see Ferrari here either. Corvettes are Corvettes and this looks like a natural progression from what they've been doing since the C4.

It's still smaller than a Ferrari and being 2 inches longer surpassed the length of a Porsche 911.
