Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Being that I'm slow, I always qualify in the back of the lobby. Being in back on the start isn't a bad thing..... I can see whats happening up front and avoid most or all of the carnage! Even though I'll never win a race I still have an enjoyable time and will continue to race. After all isn't this supposed to be fun? Don't go to cosmetic damage that would make matters worse.

You just named three things that either ultimately have zero to do with the excitement of the race or only even matter on endurance races.
I believe those three ADD excitement to the races, driving knowing your car responds differently with the more tire wear ect is alot more fun than driving like its an Arcade racer.

In the grand scheme of things...all three are minimal priority for a fully satisfied group of drivers at the end of race and series. If rules that frustrate alot of people, ruin races and feelings towards the site can be easily avoided...they should. Just an opinion.
The wear and damage of the car is highly prioritised for me so I can see where I am regarding damage or losing grip on the tires ect, the rules set by TORA are there for a reason, and to make sure everybody has fun.
I have raced other places that do organised events WITHOUT simulation damage and I have to say, it does lose its excitement, yes when you are involved in a collision you come out unscathed, but it still reminds me of Public lobbies which is what I want to avoid.
As I said before, taking on damage is either your own fault or because of another driver's error, it happens JUST the same in real life at times, we want to make each event as realistic and close to the way they officially run as we can.

The rules are the rules.
you can race here or race else where, the choice is yours.
I have been with tora almost from the start, I like its format.
My only complaint if any is that the drivers that treat the series like a public lobby do not get evicted quickly enough.

Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I don't believe I've experienced the bottleneck issue Hailfire97x described, because in Lobby A all the fastest drivers are in FWD cars. I'm in a RWD car and will inevitably pick off one or two FWD cars at the launch, but you do have to pick your battles. I'm not going to outrun Mario over 12 laps, so why bother trying to pass him at the start? Our issue in race 3 is the crush of them coming forward and the slower cars moving backward during the first couple laps. The mentality for race 3 seems to be "I usually race against Driver X, but he's already 200 ft ahead of slower Driver Y, so I need to get around Driver Y at THIS CORNER or I'll lose too much time." I think I've been hit from behind four of the last six meets this way. Part of the problem is that with a small number of people in this series, there is a huge gap in lap times within the same lobby. I was a full second slower than the pole sitter in my lobby, which I can't image is the case in the TCC. I must confess, running near last place stopped being fun weeks ago and I was hoping to make Lobby B last meet so I'd have something to do.

well i dont know whether you remember last race at sebring dominic that was a perfect execution of what you are saying because i sat behind you for one lap saw where you were slower tried once but failed then next lap same spot but pulled it off then pulled away all that is needed from most drivers especially those in the higher lobby that on race 3 is patients

Wingnut has hit it on the head, Patience is how you win races with clean passes.

Finished 12th in points for this series. Pretty good as far as I'm concerned for my first full season of NATCC. Congratulations to everyone!!
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
I know I finished higher in last year's points, but finishing tenth this year, in the Volvo for the full year (last year I think I changed cars three times), with stronger competition, seems somehow more difficult overall.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion
Last night was a total disaster! I have fired my engineer and crew chief. They missed the tuning and setup of the car by a mile. I usually qualify 3-4 seconds off the lead. Last night it was an embarrassing 10 seconds off the pole. Most races I can run with Hurricane, Louie and Corey. During the first race I ran in the back all by myself and saw the distance continuing to increase throughout the event. Its no fun not hot lapping by yourself. I made the decision to park the damn thing after the first race ended. Hopefully next season I'll be back with a better team. Congratulations to everyone and great run Hurricane!

Thank you Dewey. I was wondering what happened to you during the first race because like you said we're always right together or your ahead of me. I wasn't running well either. just something about that track my car didn't like. But, next year since now I'm apart of Ax4x we'll give the other teams a run for their money. I would also like to thank Mikey for helping me out with my car for the last few races.
Re: MSA TORA NATCC Season 2 - General Discussion

Don't worry mates! On your team will be a new engineer for your cars, starting today! Any questions ask Mikey... jeje Next year will be different.
