Nissan To Announce Major News For Its NISMO Performance Arm

Seems to me a few things which are strong possibilities -

1) New 2014 F1 Turbo Supplier
2) Re badge Renault Engines for Red Bull from 2014 under Nismo performance effectivley what they have now.
3) New 370 Nismo GTE / GT3 new platform
4) LMP1 2014 Programme
5) DP 2014 Programme
6) New Single Seater Spec Series
7) Juke GTR to go WRC

Now I would bet on -

LMP1 I thinks a defo I heard. With the LMP2 success and GT acadamy. I think Lucas Odinez (Excuse spelling) will now get a chance to go for Lemans overall victory.

GTE should happen too the GT3 car is decent and just needs a update.

Lots more to come in the background to tonight’s announcements from Nissan’s NISMO themed launch on Yokohama but here are some of the highlights:

Endurance racing remains at the core of Nissan’s motorsport plans.
Nissan are looking to return to LMP1 with a factory programme – There is an internal company timetable for this but no announcement yet.
The car will not be a hybrid (at least as it is currently defined - Nissan are not producing road cars with those technologies) but there was more than a hint of further potential innovation.
There was though the announcement that Nissan will return to Garage 56 in 2014 with an all electric, zero emmissions car.
The LMP2 customer engine programme continues with the expectation that Nissan will place some of their GT Academy Graduates at Le Mans this year.
There was commitment announced too to the Nissan NISMO GTR GT3 “If anything this is a higher profile programme for us in 2013 than LMP2” and to high profile race programmes with customer teams.
On the road car front the big news was that a NISMO GTR will be launched as a global product and will join the already launched NISMO Juke and the soon to be unveiled NISMO 370Z.

So, potentially four factory teams for 2015/2016. Awesome.
