Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
I didn't get the chance to qualify. I'd signed up to qualify on Friday 8:00PM GMT and my sign-up post was approved by a mod and I was assured I was on the list. I never got my invite. I was offered a place in the final session at 3:00AM GMT, which I had to decline due to work. I was maybe up to half a second quicker over a lap than my teammates, maybe enough to move us up a lobby, I didn't really want to look. An admin error, I know and it was unlucky that I couldn't make the very last session due work so there were no hard feelings.
So I get home from work on race day to do my first stint in lobby C at 6PM. The start of the race was done on a random grid. LMP cars and GT's mixed up. I'd have complained, but I figured halfway into the event the correct starting procedure was being followed, maybe it had changed since I last looked. It didn't affect me in race 1 because I was in my rightful position (relative to the GT's), but in race 2 it set a chain of lag spikes, crashes and pit stops that would never have happened had I been in my rightful starting position.
I look forward to the next event, but I hope the people running it are aware of the fundamental procedures of the event itself at least half way through it.

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the event and I'm sorry if there's a bitter tone to my previous post but I really do hope these mistakes aren't made again. I understand it's a big mess to organize but that was a seriously basic thing to be getting wrong.

See you Friday for GT300s?
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
Now that they've updated the standings from my stint I'm even more pissed. Well their's Le Mans to look towards.

It shows you're leading. What happened?
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
The live stream chat said that there was a crash and our car was in 11th place.

Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
Thanks for giving us the chance to do this, Richy, Simon, Chris, Duncan and all of TORA.
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
Results will be finalised tomorrow morning nce we get the results in from the remaining lobbies.
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
I lost power during the final stint. Crushing to race that long only to get ruined in the last stint.

Hmmm, well I've only put in the information I was given. It's all formula driven based on distance from the lobby leader so the distance given for you was obviously greater than that for Chris. I'll double check Cain's PM.
Er, according to Cain's PM, Chris finished in 2nd, you finished 5th....BloodYCaiN wrote:1st. Revisedspace 214 miles
2nd. CQR Chris -11,086.
3rd. Maneatingbrick -14,830. 211
4th. Iz Gundham -32,099.
5th. Flying Mikey -87,983. 197
6th. OCR Project -109,601. 193
7th. MGR Ginger -156,863. 184
8th. Montecarlo -164,464
9th. Spartan -165,567. 182
10th. Scuderia -176,247. 180
11th. Teddygtr -176,269. 180
12th. BloodYCaiN -184,429
That result was wrong. I was behind GundaM, and ahead of Chris. Hoping that ManeatingBrick and GundaM will back me up on this, as they should know they were 2nd and 3rd in that lobby. I think that Cain may have forgot an "0" between the two 1s, as in "-101,xxx"
I finished sop far back, I should let this go... had we finished stronger I would worry about it.
But I thought of an explanation> Is it possible that CQR Chris misunderstood the question and gave distance from me, the next position up rather than the leader, when asked.
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
Its was really hard to hear people and after double checking people I thought I got it right. Frustrating for sure. I'll be having ppl message me the results also in the future.

Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
i can barely even type right now. that was fun. All 3 stints i ran, i managed to finish without a scratch (until after the last when Chris decided to rectify that once we finished), and finished ahead of all other GTE's in A lobby each time out. i could swear i might have hit a 2:02 in there somewhere. once i found my rhythm, i was knocking out what i think were really good laps. nearly lost it once coming out of Turn 13, when the left rear got caught on the outside rumble strip, causing me to fish-tail for a few feet. Ended up finishing 2nd in A lobby (GTE). now to wait and see how the rest of the results put me.
First time ever Double-stinting. never done it before because i was nervous about my case of carpel tunnel, but i managed to do rather well, i think. might consider it for Le Mans now, seeing that track has longer straights to relax my fingers if need be.
I placed both Liveries (with the Cape and without) on my SF.

I noticed that too. Had a hard time hearing anyone the last couple days in a race lobby
Re: Sebring 12 Hours Race Day Thread
I cannot be bothered looking at the replay yet, to see what happened between me and BG Smithy, but I am really pissed off about having the lead of the race taken away like that. Fingers crossed that we still have a podium, Knob and Texas did a damn good job and I would hate to see their hard work wasted (along with the awful 2 hours I spent wrestling my broken car around to minimise the damage to our overall position).
Thanks to the P1 boys in Lobby B, your passing was fantastic! Congrats to all the winners and commiserations to all the people who have hard luck stories!
