Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Can someone please give us a definitive statement on which Mini this is? I would like to start practicing with this car.
If the organisers would like any help with this I am willing to assist - please PM me.

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Do you think the new Mini will be able to weigh less than 1399lbs?
That should be enough of a clue as to what Mini is being used.

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Not sure, but considering it starts in D class with a sub-1ltr engine, I'm assuming it's so that the cars actually go rather than just pootle along!!

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Tubbi top tip:
Goes faster very light with lots of handling, suspension will handle kerbs with a bit of height and softer springs.
Add the race brakes and put braking to 60% to get less lock up, more in tune with FM4 braking.

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Is it allowable for the series to add these brakes?PLOW tubbi wrote:Tubbi top tip:

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Mr danger, in general there will be a list of mandatory parts and restricted or banned parts, comply with these rulings and everything else goes.

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
I think you can put race brakes in. I have them on. The mandatory parts take it up to around 485PI so I assumed the extra 15PI remaining was for how the driver wishes to spend it. Will need Simon or Chris to confirm.

Add race breaks or dont etc I would recomend you do
Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Speak for yourself. I don't plan on slowing down so I'm taking the brakes out completely.......!SelectiveRogue wrote:I would recomend you do

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
The cars are mental, we tested them last night. Although Simon and I were pretty close to each other overall Duncan had made a serious build and tuned the car and was going a good 2 seconds faster per lap.
The front wheels have a tendency to wheelspin all the time, even at top speed and usually independent from each other. Its so strange.

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Looking forward to putting a build together tonight and pootling about!
Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
Front wheels spinning.
Sounds about right, I have had several of the 'proper' mini's and they were all like that

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
It is actually quite a handful to drive. Some laps at the Yas Marina North Corkscrew circuit and I got a 1:04.640. Although I don't think I'd be able to repeat that again, I'd actually be happy with a mid 1:05 on race day. Still, it was good enough to put me 28th on the leaderboard. And as I did my hot lapping in Rivals I got 22,000 credits & 11,000 XP for beating Rivals! I'm now 50k richer

Re: TORA Mighty Minis - General Discussion
When we ran the "modern minis" in 2012 (2011?) we had some of the most spectacular crashes in TORA history (Road Atlanta). Most memorable moment for me, was passing one AJzero on Maple Valley on the final corner of the final lap. He got it on the kerbs that put him up onto two wheels, and I drove underneath his car to take the position!!
I hope this mini series (see what I did there?!) gives us some more exciting racing like that!
