Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Please use this thread as an open forum for discussion!
- Car builds (or still stock)?
- Changes to qualifying/race format?
- Special tracks?
- Length of races?
- Points system (this will change for S2, if more people are interested)
Anything, go for it!

You should make the cars have Race Suspension, Roll Cage, Race Tyres (or any other tyre).. etc etc. make the cars look more racey!
I think the qualifying and race format is good enough atm.
Adding more races to the calendar might be good.. Rally Di Positano anyone?
I probably won't do the whole of next season, but I'll aim to do the odd race.
Glad I could lay the foundations for this series, it seems to be a great hit! Hope all the other drivers enjoy it as much as i do! Well done to you Bli33ard for smooth organisation!

Standing starts like tcc,
Race length is good, 2 race format is good.
Racy stuff on the cars or sports stuff to make it still no tuning

I made a build! Forgot to write it down though :/
Will check it tomorrow, was mainly Sports Stuff and a few Race parts but there is zero tuning ability on the car apart from tyre pressure.

I done a bit of Clio V6s and yes, it sounds great. Richy, we'll sort it out.
Season 2 might not be that far away Basically I want to get Season 2 done by end of June. So end of May ideally it will start... will need a host for one week as I'm at Download Festival and will miss one

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
The current format has meant we've gone from 9 entries to 20 in a week, I'd be reluctant to change anything to be honest. However, if you were to push me for a suggestion, stock upgrade and stock tune Clio V6 and possibly start at 9. That's the only things I'd say

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Start time may/may not change if there is enough demand. 9PM if anything, but we won't be changing anything for this season.
Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
was thinking you could change the format of the racing slightly by making race 1 results reversed grid order for race 2 to make it a closer and more competitive comp

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Yes I'm liking the sound of that reverse grid for race 2. Also fellas as there maybe more than one lobby could overall race time be taken into account to give those in B lobby who managed a better overall race time than someone in A lobby their correct race place finish position?. It gives those in front in B lobby more to fight for, seems fairer and more accurate because we often see in real racing drivers have a problem in qualifying but come from the back to finish on podium.BG Wingnut396 wrote:was thinking you could change the format of the racing slightly by making race 1 results reversed grid order for race 2 to make it a closer and more competitive comp

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
My view on reverse grids:
I am more than happy to do this, but as we saw in the GTs there were a few cases of sandbagging at the back in the first race to get pole for the next race when they finished last - and it's been proven that you give yourself the best chance possible to attain more points than someone who is unaffected by the reverse grid (if that makes sense). Two options:
Option 1: There are two races, Race 1 as normal, Race Two the top half is split and moved to the back, so grid will be finishing positions of 6-7-8-9-10-1-2-3-4-5 for example. Might be a bit more complicated...
Option 2: Three races per race meeting, then results of race two are reversed completely for race three. I prefer this, Clios don't take a long time to complete either, so fitting in three races shouldn't be an issue!
It's looking likely that we'll use Clio V6s for next season with non-tunable upgrades. FASTERRRR
This is an interesting proposition, but it could become a hot lap sesh for a leading front runner in a lower lobby and they'll just sail away with no obstructions. Yes they may have the pace to possibly get onto the podium in Lobby A, but that defeats the importance of qualifying really. I know what you mean though. Maybe we can introduce a longer qualifying session (10 minute qualifying? rather than laps?).
I don't want to have to move the start time if I can help it, especially if we introduce another race in the meeting, I know you're in Oz and I want to accommodate as many people as possible :/

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
I like the idea of the Clio v6s so long as its set upgrades and no tuning (although enforcing would be difficult?!)
I'll almost certainly be back for the whole of S2 and hopefully at least one of Uniform and jgroves will be too. Otherwise ill be looking for a second driver to team up with
I'd be inclined to say with races keep it at two, longer qualifying, use the random number generator on the forum to select the number at which the grid is reversed after race one has finished. No benefit of sandbagging in race one as you may miss out anyway.

As a further thought, as we're now pushing towards two full lobbies, perhaps allowing people to continue using the current spec cars could be an option? Possibly in their own lobby at the same start time but the more stock format might continue to encourage new people in
