Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
I'd sacrifice the similarity to get more people in. Being able to tune and upgrade the V6s and allowing people to run the stock one too would be awesome :-)

Can you then force no tuning if you've upgraded the cars?

I'm gonna sit down with some guys at one point and sort the builds out.

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Also, don't shy away from using full length circuits for these cars. Clio V6s would really come into their element on the longer circuits.
Many many years ago I ran 207 S2000s on Forza 2. The best races to be had were at places like Road America, Suzuka and Silverstone.

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Silentalarm42 ran a Clio Cup Seriesa while back, using mostly Sport parts, and it was great... and also my first full Series in TORA. The 197 with the right upgrades, can be a very quick and fun car to drive. If I have the tune still, I'll gladly post it on my SF for free and send it unlocked to (someone on my XBL Friend List) to distribute to you guys.
Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
nickyf1, I remember having some great battles w/ you in that series. Tsukuba and laguna Seca were great fun.
Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
I must admit...I'm not a great fan of the v6 Clio I'd much rather bring the 197 into current Clio cup guidelines and try it out and see what its like....just like the real thing

I'm looking to have Clio Cup Season 2 return on Wednesdays, 8PM BST, from 19th June in another 5 race series that will last 5 weeks.
Similar format, different builds, different tracks

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
This has been a great season so far, especially since the number of competitors has risen.
In my opinion, keeping this as a fixed build, non-tuning series would be of great benefit to TORA and could serve as an excellent 'rookie' event for newcomers to the site.
A site I used to frequent used to run something similar and insisted that all new racers competed in the series before they were allowed to enter the headline events - I'm not sure this is something TORA would want to pursue but I think we should encourage new racers in this direction. It's a great way of familiarising yourself with the way a TORA event runs and the standards we expect without the pressure and intensity of series like TORA GT's, ISCC, TCC, etc

+2!
This is exactly how I feel about this. TORA NEEDS a simple non-tuning championship in a slow, simple car for rookies to cut their teeth in. Plus it's amazingly fun and close for everybody else too!

This is why I wanted to host this series Jono - I've been saying it for months, now we have it!

Don't worry, Season 2 won't be too crazy in upgrades, just one or two me thinks.

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Yeah gotta agree with that, needs more stock series for rookies. I jumped in at deep end in the GT Sprints and got my arse royally kicked, done three DTM races and two Clio races and last night was by far the best race I've had in terms of raw pace, just need to translate that to a whole race and qualifying now :-)
If there is a desire for a tuning option I would suggest running a two tier system with the Clio V6s at say 480PI set upgrades open to tuning and the current cars as they are, different lobbies (unless a low entry) same kickoff time. I'd prefer to see it stay as is mind.

Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
Wow - at least 3 people that agree with me, I better get Mrs Jono to read this to prove I'm not always wrong
Re: Clio Cup Season 2 Suggestions
+4 Jono, great statement! We could use the Clio cup as a stepping stone to the TORA TCC as the driving standards have been 50/50 this season in the TCC.
