TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
All,
Our current GTE and TCC will be used as car list for Silverstone 12 hours of which work fine but we would like to add some cars
We are looking to add for GTE -
McLaren MP4-12C GT3
Audi R8 LMS
&
A Long Shot SLS GT3
-----------------------
Builds -
McLaren MP4-12C GT3 (Remove the restrictor Stage 1) Widest Tyres Front and Rear (15% Power Handicap)
Audi R8 LMS - Race Air Filter, Race Manifold and Throttle Body, Race Exhaust, Race Valves and Race Displacement. Widest Tyres Front and Rear (15% Power Handicap) (Maybe some engine upgrades need to change)
Already received feedback Mercedes SLS GT3. That car is just to quick on speed and to slow in the corners. Doesn't matter what you do with it, but need to rule this out.
----------------
Please can I ask to run these builds and give feedback if they fit around Silverstone.
Cheers all.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
This is mainly to test the cars that aren't on the original list like Duncan said, so McLaren and Audi are priority with the Mercedes as a long shot to see if anyone car get it to work. If these cars don't balance or work well then we can simply remove them, GTE in ISCC is very close and the TCC proved to be pretty good as well so we are confident these don't require much work.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
you are correct GTE in ISCC runs well and has took a while to balance and the same for the TCC cars but can we drop the RWD TCC cars and just keep with the FWD as feel if we use the RWD cars they will more than likely dominate over a larger track for larger distance and this would also cut down on buckets

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
audi 1.56.300 silverstone 15%
mclaren 1.54.3 silverstone 15%
and ran the jag to compare 1.53.6
these car was tested with the builds but default tunes found the audi very slippery on the back end mclaren feels nice and would be ideal the sls just didnt bother as will be too powerful and doesnt corner i feel we have a good selection of cars already and still would like to see the RWD dropped from the second class
take the audi and the sls out but put the mclaren in

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
What is the SLS like with standard power and some extra grip? A GT3 car can't be that much quicker than a GTE car?
RWD will stay in the TCC, I don't think they will dominate anything and remember the list is shared with the N24.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Free all day tomorrow so will spend the afternoon tuning, and the evening squeezing the times out of each in order to help you in balancing.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Richy ran sls stupid quick with restrictors taken off and 15% cant go round corners.
Could be there as standard power max tyres with warning this car will not win on out race pace.
Cheers a;;
RWD TCC will stay we have had
There is only need for 1 bucket for tcc.
We have so far
GT Standard
GT 15%
GT Aston Bucket
TCC Bucket
Bring on 12 hours

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Having been called out by CQR Magic for questioning the Megane in the 12H Discussion thread, sorry about doing so in public by the way, I went and built some other TCC cars for myself.
I found the Civic to be some 1.5-2 secs a lap quicker than the Volvo I drove, and the Megane to be a full second quicker than the Civic.
I had previously tried building the RX8 to TCC specs, and it was miserably off pace, but last night I built the RX8 R3 and found it to be competitive with the Civic and BMW 1M. I know it is not used in WTCC/BTCC, but the RX8 was used in both of the US Touring Car series. Just a thought.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
now mikey not trying to do you down but you are trying to what is regarded as the FWD specialists and argue with them these cars were tested and yes you will get one that stands out a bit but this also depends on your tune and driver all cars are competitive and very well balanced

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Personally say keep RWD in the TCC class, purely because A: It wouldnt be WTCC based if it were kept to only one drive type and B: because some people may feel like me and can only drive RWD as that's what we're used to or like driving. Just my opinion not trying to put anyone down.

More of an observation than anything else.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I tried the RX8 and couldnt get into fit. I did want it in as well, but we removed a number of coupes so maybe that's why it's not in.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
just for the sake of trying it: older M3 GTR race car with race brakes & max tire widths and 5 flying laps w/o a tune at Silverstone got me a 1:50.8xx. not sure where that stacks up with the other 'GTE' cars

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I've had some people looking at this list for awhile and they have been hitting 1:50s - 1:49s around Silverstone in GTE form with pretty decent tunes, so that might be a bit quick.
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I tried both RX8. The standard version went to 1 pound over min weight and 1 HP under max power (2601 Lbs/349HP) , but was a dog on every track I tried. The R3 model has a buffer both in weight and power but is relatively quick. I could send the build if you want.Richy59 wrote:I tried the RX8 and couldnt get into fit. Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I found a build for the R3 RX8 that managed ~2603lbs and 305hp. w/o a tune, I managed a 2:02.6 with it at Silverstone, and tried to tune it a little and got a 2:02.5. :lol:this is though, just about 1 second off pace of the 'Suzuka' tuned Civic Type-R I ran in the NATCC (same tune from Sebring Short, front Aero maxed)

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
I know this is a long shot but do you think it's possible to get the Mustang GT500 in? I remember it was in last year and it was a blast with that setup
Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
think the GT500 is WAY over the power restriction. ~540hp if i recall. the '05 Mustang GT might be the better choice?! though, not sure how much power adding a turbo will give it.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Ah yeah. I think the 05 has about 300 hp, I'll check later I guess.
I just thought I'd bring it up since I came across this... http://www.vds-racing.be/images/press08-11.jpg

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
Yeah can we please just concentrate on getting the 3 original cars mentioned into the current list? We're getting rather close to the race so we need to get things moving and adding more and more cars will slow things down.
In saying that, there is one more car to be added in the TCC field but it won't be run by anyone other than one team, and it won't be classified. Velox Rusty will be running a Mk2 Golf GTi with his team as a replica of his real car, and we'll be doing a fair amount of cross promotion with it. Can somebody please build up one of these cars and give it a test to see how it works against the TCC cars. It can't have any adjustable aero, so may require some work and needs to fit in the TCC regs. It may not be the fastest but as long as it is capable of racing it should be fine.

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
and just ran a 1:51.831 (could do better) in the SLS. not sure where the tune came from, but the date is roughly a year old (added the tire widths to it)

Re: TEC Silverstone 12 Hours Test Team Help
the Mk2 can fit! i was hoping to get the 1.8L from the Beetle to work, but i had to use the 2.0L from the Golf R. 341hp @ 2501lbs. (or 347hp @ 2505lbs with a set of Team Dynamic 'Pro Race 1' wheels installed)
(2nd edit)the 1.8T from the Beetle can work. found the right part combo for it to fit.
